Camera scratches? Covered by warranty?

I got a scratch on my front camera lense. Anyone else had this ? Is it covered under warranty?

I had suspicion that this would happen given its placement. Is it noticeable from your cabin display? I’m not sure this would be covered by warranty unless it had the scratch when you purchased it, however, you should be able to file a claim with insurance… especially if it was caused by another vehicle kicking up rocks or something of that nature.

I feel like ordering a replacement camera from Tesla would be significantly cheaper than an insurance deductible

It shouldn’t be either one of those. When I drop it off I’m gonna be straight up with them, you will fix it under warranty. Look at the position and tell me it wont collect road debris ?‍.

Send a message to Tesla service and ask for an OTC price, it’s normal wear it won’t be covered under warranty, same thing if a rock chips your windshield which also happens frequently.

Really not bad. I forget the cost of the same thing for the Rivian R1T/S, but it was north of $1k since the camera is part of the front facia, so that entire section has to be replaced.
