Camping Questions

Hey all! My wife and I are camping up and down the 1 starting tomorrow. We'll be sleeping in the truck bed. Here is our setup:

• Two twin sized tri fold mattresses with a heated blanket on us plugged into the truck bed outlets.
• Over the truck, I have an overlanding truck bed camping tarp for water protection should rain be in the forecast.
• I have three of the Tesla branded tubs for storage. At night we'll throw those into the cab.

Overall, I wanted to keep it pretty simple. I'll post pictures of our setup and trip in another thread with what worked, what didn't, and advice for anyone else looking to do the same. I wanted to get the basecamp tent but due to the "devil in the details" gotchas, I decided against it and will wait and see what the aftermarket comes up with (if it's even needed because this setup may work just fine).

I did have a few questions if anyone has an answer to these:

• Someone mentioned you can control, and dim!, the truck bed lights with the app. I cannot find where to do that. Is that a thing? If not, no biggie. We have a nice electric camp lantern we could use but not needing it would be a nice bonus. Any idea if this is dependent on the truck having internet or is Bluetooth sufficient? We'll be off grid without any cellular connectivity at some camp sites.
• Does the tonneau have any "pinch" protection? Meaning if a hand were to unintentionally be in place where the tonneau retracts into, would it stop eventually or just mangle the hand while it retracts? I haven't seen an answer on this nor do I want to test it. Or even damage the tonneau itself if I were to leave something in the truck bed that's in the way and accidentally break it.

Based on other posts, it seems like we'll be fine temp wise with the electric blanket. Ventilation doesn't seem like too big of a concern (CO2, moisture) if we're in a well ventilated area to begin with. Since we have the tarp, worst case, we pop open the tonneau an inch if it get stuffy.

Any other tips or nice gear to have while doing this?

While the vault is certainly not sealed, I would not call it a "well-ventilated area".

I meant the truck itself is parked in a well ventilated area, like outside versus being parked in a garage. The vault itself is meager at best
