After reading most of the conversations here and getting my VIN # for grey interior earlier today I’ve decided to wait for the non fs.

Has anyone else done it before and manage to keep the 1000$ deposit towards the non fs?

If it helps in any way I’m suppose to take delivery from Irvine OC CA.
Thanks

you can't keep your $1k deposit because you gave it to Tesla and it's non-refundable. you can put your order on hold. let us know what they say about how long you can put it on hold and if it can be applied to non-FS.
I got my VIN 10 days ago and no delivery date yet. I think it's still in transit, so I'm patiently waiting, but having second thoughts like you.

OK, just came back from the service center in Irvine, according to the rep I can put the reservation on hold up to six months and later on if the non-foundation series will be available they will be able to match me up with one.

I guess it’s good news, can’t see myself paying additional $ just to get it this year.
Painful but makes sense to me.

Smart move financially and beta tester wise.

You never want to purchase the first year production of a brand new vehicle platform. The high tech Cybertruck is no exception.

I may do the same, especially if you get to apply your 1000 deposit. definitely won't be FS six months from now

I know I've read it but how many FS are expected to be produced? (About) How many have been delivered?

I'll probably still go through with the FS (when offered) because of all the "stuff" you get. It seems somewhat worth it as well as, I don't want to wait for another 18 months to take delivery. I figured they've produced enough to fix the bugs but haven't produced so many to not care. Where we are is the sweet spot

Tesla should make the deposit $10k. All you flakers are wasting everybody's time while those of us that do want to buy are still waiting.

For anyone else: You don't need to put the $1k down before the non-FS are available if that's what you want.

Tesla will tell us before it cancels our invitations to configure. ...Tho it might be via social media x-x

My SA told me it can only be applied toward a FS. Otherwise, I would have done what you did. I would like to confirm this so that I know whether to put the 1K down or not. I want delivery before Oct. 1st.
