Check your Dashcam drive to make sure it's recording properly

I received my Cybertruck on February 1, but never really checked the functionality of the USB drive. I assumed it was working after the screen indicated it was recording, but on the settings main screen it said "Not recording".

Another CT driver was in an accident, and when he went to review the dashcam footage, only to find no footage. Required formatting the USB drive before it started recording properly.

So FYI to folks with their CT: check the USB dashcam, or just reformat it before you keep driving. Might not actually be recording.

Good to know, isn't there an error message that pops up if it is not recording to the USB?

Mine keeps filling up because of all the people looking at the truck.

I use a 2 TB SSD drive on my Model 3. One partition for Tesla Cam and the other partition for my personal music when away from data range.
