Cleaning the INTERIOR of the CT windshield

For our long interior windshield cleaning ...
I ended up buying two Swiffers that I keep in the frunk... one that nicely holds a paper towel with those 4 little grabbers on the backside .... and the other Swiffer similarly holds onto a yellow Costco microfiber towel cut to size.

A quart spray bottle of water with around 4-5 drops of Dawn seems to be just enough to break down the new car gassing 'fog' that accumulates on the inside of our windows. I use the damp paper towel Swiffer to start ... with a final buff from the dry micro towel equipped Swiffer. Your mileage on the number of Dawn drops may vary with your water, but not too many to avoid streaking residue. No clear water wipe is necessary if not too many Dawn drops are used.

Much improved result today! I think that your point about the new-car-outgassing -fog is really important. I think that I was just pushing it around and not getting rid of it. The Dawn Tincture got rid of it and I went ahead and used spray away after micro-fiber-ing….super transparent! Thanks for the clues!

Combine this with a regular broom handle of your choice with a screw end on it.

It's cleaning head is not as big as some of the other options. But it a little easier to get into the corners of the window IMHO due to the triangular shape of the cleaning head.

I have been using it in the windows of my Freightliner big rig. And it does a good job cleaning the large windshield.

With a 6-ft broom handle I can easily clean the entire windshield of my big rig sitting in the driver's seat.

I haven't looked into it but if someone makes a multi piece long broom handle in sections that might be worth the extra cost. I just went with a cheap 6 ft wooden broom handle with a screw end.

Whichever system you purchase. I would recommend buying AT LEAST a half dozen extra cloth covers so you can get the windshield and all other interior windows done in one cleaning session.

Swiffer with Sprayway cleaner. I tried the Costco microfiber cloths but they kept leaving little yellow lint in the hardest places to get to. I also had the strangest problem with microfiber cloths with any pile on them because the surface of the window kept grabbing the cloth and flipping the swiffer head over. I found these glass cleaning microfiber cloths and they are working well so far.

Does anyone know how to remove the front camera housing to clean it or a link to do it?

If the fluid squirt function (onto the lens) is not doing the job, glass cleaner and a soft cloth lightly used should do.

If it actual mud, rinse that clear first with spray bottle.

I believe he is talking about the autopilot cameras underneath the plastic trim on the top center of the windshield on the interior next to the rear view mirror.
