A great looking chart

but some corrections that cause me to caution the content isn’t exactly unbiased (intentionally or unintentionally):

• bi-directional charging is plenty possible with a Lightning absent Ford Charge Starion Pro

• Lightning total cargo is way off (he’s listing only the bed plus Frunk, while the CT numbers include rear seat cargo with seats up, while Rivian’s number is to me pure fiction - it includes every drink holder, cubby, and possible place you can fit a coin in edgewise) - lightning has more main cargo (Frunk, bed, and rear seat) than either the CT or the Rivian (including their sub-bed storage and gear th tunnel

• I don’t know why he lists Rivian as “unibody/BOF hybrid” then doesn’t know that applies ~equally to the CyberTruck

• Lightning bed width he lists only the between-wheel-wells figure (rest of bed is 65” wide)

• CyberTruck ground clearance listed is to me a partial fiction - 17” is only in extract mode, which is a limited use case ~emergency setting with special handling instructions - list the real world “very high” setting of 14.4”

• maybe the biggest, he claims the CT is FSD ready - it’s not been mentioned in the event, website, or pricing configurations

All-in-all, this compare feels like a Tesla enthusiast who did their best to buy in to Tesla’s marketing (or in case of FSD, even make it up), and did their least effort (or most biased take) on the competition

@Old Spice feel free to share above corrections with whomever/wherever this is from

probably others, but above on first pass

?

CT is entirely unibody, Rivian has a traditional frame.

Hardware is there? They'll have to do some retraining for CT specifically but I don't think it's controversial to say it will have it. The problem is not so much that CT isn't FSD ready but that FSD itself isn't ready ...

Looking at this as objectively as I can, I walk away with the following impression.

The new kids on the block, that are dedicated to electric only, are the leaders in every category. The legacy OEMs are in a world of hurt (in this market). Kinda reminds me of the 80's, when the US made garbage and the japanese auto invasion began in full force. And in my opinion, we have NEVER caught up...

The fat lady hasn't sung yet, but someone is backstage warming up...

Ford advertises the Lightning as 0-60 in < 4 seconds.

The Drag Coefficient is meaningless without also knowing the frontal area.

Lightning has independent suspension, but its not air suspension. Its coil over shocks at all four wheels.

Lightning on-board power is 9.6 kw. total available. Outlets in Frunk, Cabin, and Bed.

Ford advertises a public charging network of 88,000 sites. Hard to find numbers, but some sources indicate about 10,000 are fast chargers (before adding about 15,000 Tesla Superchargers sometime in 2024). Sure Tesla and Rivian can also use all of those Electrify America chargers (with appropriate adapters), but as you list it, makes it look like no fast charging is available.

Included on the Lightning for no extra charge (not inc. on CT):
Full sized spare tire (and a place to carry it and weight is factored into Payload).
Power sliding rear window.
In-Bed locking tie-downs (4).
Running Boards

Ford is running incentives now through end of the year and dealer market adjustments are now tailing off, so likely you could buy for under sticker.

Also included in Lariat Package:
Power up/down tailgate.
Tailgate step.
For 2023, Lariat still includes the Ford Charge Station Pro 80 amp charger.

Ford Lightning has an integrated security system. Not sure how sophisticated it is.

Somebody should edit the chart posted at the beginning of this thread that still has misleading and incorrect stats on it.

Dimension wise, Lightning has much larger Frunk, much larger cabin, much larger bed. The only weak point is shorter (67" vs 72") bed.

If you just want a full size electric truck, Lightning is the one. It has larger battery and real world range is no less than CT.

In many situations, the Cybertuck bed's useful length is shorter than the Lightning. Sure, the very bottom is 72", but there is a 6" overhang at the bottom of the window, and another 4-6" at the top of the cab that will get in the way of larger cargo.
Take a look at the thread with the CyberTruck hauling a stack of sheetrock. Compare to the Lightning hauling a stack of sheetrock. The sheetrock on the CyberTruck hangs off the end of the tailgate more than the Lightning because for a stack like that, you cannot use those extra inches at the bottom of the CyberTruck bed.

Can't wait to get my Cyber Truck. Can someone update the stats on the chart. CT is getting a biased review, still the best truck of the 3.

CT is good for quads and snowmobiles, things of that nature. A stack of 5 sheets does better. And more room if you camp in the bed of the CT. Both great and fun trucks.
