The CT is actually one of the best half ton trucks I have ever owned… really surprisingly good at truck stuff too. Hauled a skid steer the other day to get some fuel for it… hooked it up and within seconds the truck auto-leveled!

It was funny to see all the construction guys gawking and taking pictures of it towing!

With trailer you have to be pulling 7 tons, aren't you?

Yes, were were right at 13.5k or so and right at the tongue max. It was about 1.5 miles from the barn so nothing I would do daily or regularly... but considering the load it did an incredible job... better than any half ton from XYZ brand could manage. These trucks really are amazing - and nothing else like them on the road... and this coming from a guy who swore up and down I would never buy one!

Haha same here. Best truck I’ve ever owned. Had many crew cab diesels and now I can’t stand getting in the rattly bucket of bolts diesel trucks

Nice story.

Do you know why you were previously so biased against the Cybertruck? What changed to get you to buy one?

Seems like you were ~20% over the limit and not just at the max. There will be of course a safety margin built in, but still. I have the same use case (hauling a skid steer), but my total is about 12.3k.

One concern I have is with the storage compartment cover. Probably not a factor in this case, but overall seems like it would be prudent to put some extra material (such as thick plywood) to distribute the load across the bed.

I'm in my second MS and I wasn't going to get mine either--too much negative brand image right now-- but my buddy let me drive his and I was sold. My Ram Limited was more posh but this is a whole nother level of driving. In fact, the MS was my favorite but it rarely gets out now unless my wife is with me. She drives the MS now, coming from a Boxster S with a stick that just sits. About as fast but way more comfortable than the Boxster.

I had no real reason other than I truly didn't understand all the tech behind what made it such a different and game changing truck. My wife and I test drove it while we were down picking up my M3P Highland on a whim, and it ate away at my brain for days after the drive... and I ended up pulling the trigger on one a few days later!

Best decision I ever made for sure... and didn't actually think it would be so good at real truck stuff... but turns out it is.

Now I drive my F450 and it feels like an antique... the steering feels broken and I forget I have to turn the wheel many times over... pretty crazy.

And the hitch didn't even explode into 1,000 pieces like Whistlin' Douchebag said it would!
