I think a lot of buyers will be removing the ugly BAW and treating the ginormous windshield with Rain-X water repellant.

I‘m rather surprised that nobody has come up with a built in hydrophobic windshield formula that’s mixed in with the actual glass. It would minimize the use of the windshield wipers and repel bugs and dirt from sticking.
The permanent rain treatment has existed for decades in aircraft. The problem is, you have to use special methods to clean it. In the car world, it wouldn't last long enough to stand up. With car washes, and such, you'll ruin the treatment. Then again, if you take care with Rain-X, you can make it last quite a long time.

I don't think it will be a new target. Like others have said, cameras and sentry mode will be a good defense for vandalism like this.

Also, we have already had a thread about this:
Vertical Parked BAW Too Easy to Vandalize, need option of 2 park positions - horizontal or vertical | Tesla Cybertruck Forum - News, Discussions, Community - Cybertruckownersclub.com

I understand it is difficult to search through all the threads on this site. Just referencing it so you can see other points of view.

You also can't put a survey in an existing thread.
