On our 2026 beast with a 90974 vin had the air suspension errors right away. (literally on the drive home)
It was a quick fix at the service center - it was the left rear ride height sensor.
(PART # 1250971-00-B)

That truck also had a rattling passenger seat on rough roads - just an adjustment they fixed at the same time. (had 137 miles when we took it back for this stuff)

Our other 2026 beast 94678 Vin - had one early problem with the tonneau cover sounding odd and sticking short of fully closing occasionally - service center fixed it right up.

I picked up a 97xxx series VIN cyberbeast on Friday, truck was manufactured 6/24 and the first thing I did (under 10miles on the odometer on the truck) when I got back home was test few features I care about and oh boy! Here are all the issues I have with my new truck:

1. Bed 240V outlet shuts down while supplying only 25A, with no other AC loads. These are rated at 40amps. Service Mode reports: “HVC detects an issue while grid forming the AC Outlets.” -- Tesla has confirmed this issue remotely by looking at my vehicle's log and have backordered a replacement part. Fix date TBD. This is a major repair as far as I know. You can test this on your own cybertruck by plugging in a second EV like Tesla Model 3 / Y to the 240v outlet in your truck bed using Tesla mobile connector. It is rated to charge unto 32amps using the mobile connector. Mine kept tripping at 32amps, I had to lower the amps to 25amps to make it work (you can configure lower amps in the vehicle you are charging)

2. Air suspension leaking -- Alerts in the car on my first drive out on freeway on Saturday!

3. Abnormal and distinct humming/whining sounds at freeway speed. The sound changes between uphill acceleration and downhill regeneration/coasting. There is absolutely no sound driving below ~50-70 miles. This is my 4'th Tesla so I'm aware of regen/electric motor sound, this is much different, it kicks in at higher speed and sounds like a drill or whining sound. I read online some of the reasons could be : it can be Active noise cancelling sound via the speaker (nope, it's disabled), I also heard it can be battery preconditioning (nope, it's not preconditioning the battery). While I was at sales center today I took another Cyberbeast for a test drive on the same freeway, driving the same speeds with FSD and confirmed there was no issue with the Demo truck, so it's some defect on my Cyberbeast!

4. Windshield has visible optical distortion that warps objects/road markings when viewed through portions of the glass. Visible from driver’s seating position. In the 5-month I was waiting for my Cybertruck to be delivered I watched tons of Youtube video and I remember one guy had the same issue, I'm surprised how bad this is. Windshield will be replaced to fix this, hopefully, Tesla hasn't confirmed yet.

I'm going to be doing additional tests tonight with charging the truck on 110v Level 1 charging and 220v Level 2 charging for a few hours to see if additional errors with the electrical system show up. In addition I'm thinking of also putting the truck in camp mode to level the truck, I guess that should stress the Air suspension further.

Curious if anyone has experienced similar issues with their trucks, would love to know more and prepare myself with what to expect.

As much as I love Tesla cars and FSD, the quality controls on Cybertruck production line seem to be atrocious. I can't believe this is the customer experience they deliver for a $100k+ vehicle and I really wish customers demand much higher quality and not settle because they don't want to be perceived "difficult" or think this is normal, this is absolutely not normal. Unfortunately the problem is beside the Windshield issue (which I flagged during delivery) none of the other 3 issues can be detected before delivery 'cuz they don't let you test drive out of the lot before you purchase.
My windshield was replaced in June d/t technician cracking original. I’m scheduled for a replacement end of July. It’s from the middle to the passenger side. Very distracting. Originally the windshield was perfect. CB FS Delivered April 2024. Also just received a PCS error so can only charge on Supercharger.

My windshield has some wavyness, and an issue with the printed (tint?) at the top. I am worried that replacing it will be more traumatic than living with it.
They credited my account with a replacement windshield “at my convenience”. I was going to wait until I had rock chips/vandalism to get it replaced. At least bring it up and get it credit due to manufacturing defect.

Tesla is pretty straight forward about this.

request a repurchase. its a longer process but they absolutely will not “swap it out” after you accepted delivery.

it seems counter-intuitive as it relates to a new vehicle purchase, but at this point, all incoming CT VINs are accounted for.

to be clear, they will fix the things under warranty but they also have a pretty short patience for repeat visitors. my experience is that an individual truck with this many issues will only continue to have more issues. Eventually, there may be a point where they are all “worked out“ but the CT track record for reliability across the board is not good.

i made a poll here about a year ago to ask how many people had any issue with their truck, i think only 30% of those who replied answered 0 issues.

i do not think 3 years later we can still chock it all up to “early build quality issues“

check service mode for errors related to air suspension, pcs2 fault etc, service will fix but be ready for an unpleasant experience.

@JCERRN thanks for your reply, I want them to repurchse/buy-it back from me, but my sales guy and service center contact keep insisting on ordering replacement parts etc. I've asked them if there is an email where I can request this, but they seem to keep talking with me about "expedited service/ overnight the parts/ loaner vehicle" -- any tips/experience on how to formally ask for a repurchase?

Formally request to speak to service manager to request buyback.
if they still deflect, seek contact info for regional mgmt. further escalation would be to send an email to [email protected], but expect 1-2 months for a reply.

if you have a service visit booked, in the chat it will have the names and emails of both service manager and regional manager

their process is that they will still continue the service route while repurchase request is pending but you need to confirm that they submitted the repurchase request on your behalf.

to be clear- your vehicle likely does not qualify as a lemon yet. Most states require 3 repair attempts for the same issue, or a certain number of business days out of service for a request, so no value in threatening them with lemon law right now, but i would read up on CA lemon law requirements in the meantime.

my points of reference for this is my FS was repurchased, and I've been through the service ringer for my current truck 11 times since 2/2025

I have a 97+ vin CB; picked it up on 7/11/26; it has glass distortion along the lower 1/4 of the passenger side; I am hoping to negotiate an at-will windshield replacement down-the-road, as it seems there is a bad crop out there. I will have to test the 240v outlet with my model Y.

Yeah I think it’s a pretty common issue lately, smart thing is to get credit with a replacement windshield at your convenience maybe an year down once they have sorted out the quality control issues with the windshield — hopefully once they deliver the thousands of orders for standard cybertruck this year, they would have sorted it out.

Have a similar issue with a 2026 CB.

@smooth.futons2e - can you share any more details about this? Any chance service indicated what specific part they wanted to replace?
sorry to hear that -- I don't have specific detail on the part they will change yet cuz they haven't officially taken in my truck for service yet, but they seem to suggest PCS will change and they will order it on priority for me. Regarding your issue with the 240v outlet, how much amps were you able to pull out?

have you also tried the 120v outlets? I believe they are rated for 20amps individually and as a pair (https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/cybertruck/en_us/GUID-DA020526-B42E-4C0E-AE1E-BB22072D48B6.html) - when I tried using my camping induction cooktop to boil water with it, I was not able to draw anywhere close to the rated 1800 watts, I think it only hit 900 watts, but I haven't dug into this more, I figured its cuz of the same issue that 240v outlet is having.

I use Kill a watt meter (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00009MDBU?lv=shuf&channelId=500&plpRedirect=mhFallback&th=1) to measure the 120v outlet draws.

Air compressor might be drawing a much higher spike current, so it might be correct thing for it to trip. It supposed to trip if you go over 40 amps
Cybertrucks outlets have great surge capability, they will go well over 40 amps for startup current.

After paying 70k USD or whatever you rather "live with it"? wow
