Maybe your guy who works with steel can make a swing-out spare tire carrier an offset so that the spare does not block the rear camera, which is located towards the top and center of the tail gate.

or what about a one-piece that can hang over the tailgate and be further secured using d-rings in the bed?

Don’t distract him from making the sail panels. I’ve been driving around with most trim pieces missing for a month already. I’m sure people are saying “See Elon sucks , look at that tuck, it’s falling apart!”

I love it, looks great. I've been rolling around with a vinyl triangle and while it's okay, this would certainly be an upgrade.

On their website it looks like the slots are simply cut open - did you put vinyl behind it or did it come with a panel that goes underneath?

Edit: I should have read more closely. Did they charge you extra for the Satin PPF, or did you just have to request it at checkout?

The vinyl was included. It’s on transfer tape and in the shape of the sail which makes lining up with the holes simple.

It’s going great… if “great” is the Cantrail shearing off at 70mph on the highway, somehow slipping under the leading edge of the sail panel pulling it loose and bending it completely in half before SAILING off into the dust behind me.

Ugh

I only heard the calamity because I happened to not have the radio on since it was super early and quiet on the highway.

I was enjoying the peaceful solitude.

Until… well, I had to pull over and finish ripping the ruined panel off.

Yeah, so it’s going great.
