When getting the tent installed by SC, they also retro fitted the tonneau appliqué with spring load locks, however when I try to remove it to set up the tent, the sealant between appliqué and glass roof just pull out like bubble gum. Anyone who has their tent installed faced with similar situation? Btw, the truck previous had truck bed leak fixed by Tesla SC as well, not sure if that’s related.

yeah, that looks like remnants from trying to seal the bed from rain.

Weird, here is what that piece should look like to show which parts that belong to it.

So I’ve heard many recommendations on how to handle this in my cybertent setup. The only waterproofing solution I have found so far that works with the cybertent is carrying a roll of black electrical tape.
When you put the aeroflap back on, just put a strip with half of it on the flap and half on the glass. On the outside. It leaves no residue and there is zero leaking. It’s is also very cheap. Just discard the piece when you next open the tent. I have a roll in the bag with my cybertent awning stuff and always have scissors in my car for a nice clean cut.
Thank you to whoever the forum member was who recommended this. I apologize but I don’t remember who you are to shout out by name.

You could always take it back to them and say “ is this supposed to look like this?” I assure you it will get cleaned off if you do that.

I had the water leak issue fixed by then before the tent install, seems the solution to one causes problem to the other. I took a close look at the gummy stuff, it was the sealant put in for leak fix, and it doesn’t dry out, still can be formed to any shape like playdoh

That why I use the tape. Because anything I put in there gets jacked up every time I take out the aero flap.
