Got my Cybertent a month ago. Camped in it three times now. Everything is awesome, except ... there's this one strap that I cannot figure out what it's for or where it's supposed to be attached.

Anyone know how to attach this strap?

Also, cannot find a PDF manual anywhere. I've emailed Heimplanet, I'll post it here if they send me one.

(picture taken in Moab, UT and posted via starlink roam woooot!)

There's one on the other side. They clip together under the tailgate.

No. Not that strap. There is one that connects under the tailgate but that one sticks between the bumper and wheel well sideways like a paddington jacket.

Happy to photograph it next time I open the tent.

at least I think that’s the strap you’re showing

slide the strap flat between the bumper and wheel arch with the plastic buckle thingy in the wheel well

Thanks @hemiarch ... I've been offline. Camping in Moab!

Sticking between the bumper and wheel well sideways works on one side, but the other doesn't fit -- there isn't enough gap. Seems like a janky place to attach. Thought there was a more elegant solution like a missing buckle and strap that attached to the wheel or something.

Guess I'll just take a flat head screwdriver and *make* a gap lol

Did I miss something. You say Version 2.

What did they change ?

I have had a Cybertent for a while and did not realize they made changes with the more recent ones being sold.

It was out of stock for a while. I bought mine when I was back in stock at the end of February 2025. Mine doesn't have zippers on the black fabric tent cover. The install video shows the lady unzipping the black fabric tent cover 1 minute into the video ...

Leads me to believe there are other slight differences with my tent, hence version 2.

You could also tack it onto something with a piece of Velcro. It’s unimportant structurally but keeps those lower flaps from getting janky.

I have a recently installed one. The changes are minor I think. From what I have read (haven’t ever seen an original), the legs don’t “lock” into place and there are no zips to the cover that’s placed on when it’s folded. There are also two useless straps as discussed above. Those are the only things I know about. Perhaps someone else can chime in.
