When I ordered my CT on the first day of online ordering it was kind of a whim as I had just purchased a model 3 in 2018.

As time has progressed my model 3 is now in it's fifth year and my 2019 silverado is 14 years old, so I really need the CT to replace both vehicles.

My model 3 is rear wheel drive (all wheel drive wasn't available in 2018) which sucks in snow and I have also since purchased a small crawler and a trailer to clear a 100 acre bush property we purchased in late 2019 (14,000 lb towing will be perfect).

I have owned many vehicles in my life and several trucks and to me other than being electric and a tesla, the most important feature that I see in the CT is the stainless steel. I am tired of dents in my vehicles from parking lots, having to wax it twice a year to preserve the paint and getting it undercoated to prevent rust which still occurs despite the waxing and undercoating.

I hate to break the news, you may have already consumed water that has cycled through me a few times. ?
Dude...that's nasty!

Why "a few times"?

I love your list… spot on.

Just wanted to comment on this idea right here.

Our house is very prone to humidity and I accidentally left the dehumidifier off for a week so humidity was in the 80s inside before I realized it (yuck). I fired up the dehumidifier and it’s been running non stop for 2 days, a constant drip of water out the spout. I’ve dumped at least 5 gallons of water out that it’s collected out of the air.

The other day I was thinking about how nice and pure that water looked. Then I took a second to think about how that moisture gets into the air:
  • Showering
  • Cooking
  • Dishwasher
  • Clothes Washer (and air dried clothes)
  • Human (and cat) breath
  • Evaporated Sweat
  • Fart Juice.
I’ll pass on that condensation “Drinkable” water myself.
If you are driving your main concern from drinking condensation would be from all the ICE produced carcinogenic particulate matter that is attached to it. All combustion produces water vapour and CO2, but it's really the particle matter that stuffs you up over time.

But if you were out bush and you had the A/C on for a while, sucking in fresh forrest air (no not off a air freshener tree) , you should be good to go after running it through a filter and/or a UV filter.

While I'm bored with driving my 6-year-old Ram diesel, I can wait for a while and keep saving money for my Cybertruck as I want to be debt free.

I'm glad I live in Austin and have some friends that work out there and looking forward to a tour soon :)

There's a high probability you've consumed water that was passed through a dinosaur at some point.

And, when saying that out loud among high society, I hope you pronounce it "Joo-Wissss" with your tea-pinky fully extended.

Legionnaires disease is on line one for you, Mr. JBee.

Drinking raw-unprocessed condensation from an unprepped surface or source will rip the ever loving ass off of your body. If it was between life and dehydration, yes. But just relaxing and looking for a cool drink... heeeeelllll no. Condensate should be distilled through boiling after collection.

Our water was most likely brought here by meteorites so we most like are drinking water that passed through an alien 1st.

Just saying.

the water was more likely to come from a comet as they are dirty balls of ice

Na I'll be right mate! :)

First up its uncommon for legionnaires to spread via drinking contaminated water, as it needs to get into your lungs to infect you not your stomach. Most cases come from breathing in water mist created from stagnet water from air conditioners that don't drain. Second I prefaced that by running it through a filter or UV light. UV light easily kills the bacteria in water, and depending on the micron size of the filter it too will remove it. If it's a reverse osmosis filter most of the particulate matter will be removed too.

In most of the northern hemisphere it is advisable to filter rain water because of air pollution, likewise condensation would be susceptible to contamination, hence my comment on avoiding using water collected on roads or urban environments to reduce the overall particulate load.

It would be sweet to have drinkable water come out of the CT HVAC, I think EM even mentioned that at some point in an interview somewhere, where he was talking about getting into the housing space with their HVAC setup. It works, but it is fairly energy intensive, especially in dryer regions and climates where it would be most useful. Most humid climates also have enough rain which is more cost and energy effective to make potable.
