Seems like a lot of people here don't understand the tailgate pad is for carrying bikes. It's not specifically for the jumpseats and really serves no other purpose than to transport bikes like all other tailgate pads in existence. The jumpseat is an optional accessory for the tailgate pad. The pad is useless if you're not transporting bikes regularly just as the jump seat would be doubly useless if you don't have the pad to attach it to. So basically if you're not hauling bikes having that pad mounted on your truck just for your jump seats will be an invitation to ridicule or an awkward conversation and additionally it will keep you from washing your tailgate and is a pain to remove and install constantly just to use jumpseats.
