Two small tidbits I noticed on closer watch of the best video I've seen yet of the truck.

1. the ports in the side wall that people were hypothesizing were hvac ports for the vault are in fact strap/tie down points.

and
2. there is a plate light over the rear plate in the base of the tailgate above the plate that points down and illuminates the license plate. As seen below this is daylight/bright lighting with the sun coming from the complete front of the vehicle, and yet there is lighting on that plate nook. Since we do not see any lighting points on the bumber sides of that nook.. logically, the bottom of the tailgate at that point is probably a light bar similar to the rear lighting facing backwards. This is separate from the two yellow lights on either side of the plate mounting point.. which I assume are backup lights or additional turn signals?

Sure they are obscure and relatively unexciting features... but this is the stuff I am interested in seeing.. functionality that means they are making progress on finishing the design for production quality vehicle.

Also.. BAW consists of two wiper blades mounted to one big ass arm! a small one at the bottom, and a larger one at the top.

it also has what appears to be electrical wiring sticking out just before the first small blade at the first knuckle of the arm. This is making me think the functionality I've been guessing for a while might be how they are actually implementing the wiper blade. I assume the blades themselves slide along the length of the arm to reach the furthest point it can reach at the diagonal, but slide/retract into a shorter alignment when it swings all the way down to the frunk.. so that the blades effectively resize to the point at the window they are currently at.. otherwise you have a huge amount of windshield that would not be getting wiped on the diagonal due to placing the blades to conform to the smallest distance covered in one swipe, which a normal 2 wiper arm config would cover from two sides.

Looks like there is a pretty big opening here where the mirror mount is. Hopefully this will be serviceable as Musk suggested.

Hopefully I can fabricate an adaptor for these

Nice.. I also spotted that and was glad to see they are removable as he mentioned. Was trying to figure out whether they had to modify the exoskeleton or just attached additional mounting structure for the side mirrors. Also been wondering if there will be a kit under the seat or in the glove box included with all new vehicles that contains plastic trim covers for that point if owner chose to remove the side mirrors!

It may be electrical. My guess is it’s hose for windshield washer fluid. Not seeing any squirters anywhere, guessing the nozzles are built into the BAW.

Yes,

Not only do the blades slide up and down the arm, but i think the arm itself extends and retracts.

By extending the windscreen, they have a longer vertical for the BAW, making it feasible for an extendable arm +extendable wiper to reach all the way across.

Maintaining rigidity with extended arm will be a problem, but I think it can be engineered.

the quad-motor is actually just a tri-motor, plus the wiper

Funny story, I was taking to a friend yesterday about the Cyber Rodeo and he said “what, that Tesla thing? Yeah I got an invite but didn’t feel like going”

Well that sucks.... your disposition on that video makes sense now. 😭
Are you sure he's a friend and doesn't like CT?

There's absolutely no need for an extending arm on the BAW simply because the geometry of the windscreen is such that the windscreen is higher than it is wide, and the top part of the windscreen is completely unnecessary for the driver to look out of as he sits much further down. It operates in one simple arc motion, with the length being determined by the windscreen width, and the tubes are for spraying water on the screen, which btw is much better especially for large windscreens like this.

(PS Mercedes have had extending single wipers for 20+ years)

Yes, except the front-facing FSD cameras are at the top-center of the windshield.

Amazing… all this time I thought the windscreen was at least 20% wider than the height.
The structure tapers in and there's a trim. For reference, length of windscreen in blue :

The wiper is offset a bit to the side, and slightly raised off the bottom. We also have heavy? Tint across the top. The current path could well fully wipe without needing to extend.

BTW
Roadsters & CT's seats look similar in thickness. Could the same inside.
