@Ward L I agree with you 100%. I've tried to make this point several times on this forum. It won't be long before the die hard fans attack you for your stance and praise Tesla as infallible. Tesla deserves a lot of credit, but their desire to replace so many components with software solutions is a miscalculation.

I am realizing that it may be some time (meaning way to effing long) before we get back up proximity alarms. This is very frustrating. Really? How long does it take to get backup alarms when it is something cars 15 years old had on the day they were sold? I went online searching this topic and one thread said the CT had the alarms. I checked my truck safety options and it did not. I'm beginning to worry the Tesla "Company Plan" is broken and they will not mature into the auto company we want. Will blow your mind FSD happen in the next 5 years? When is it optimistic features vs a flat out lie? I love Teslas, but am growing tired of the BS... Maybe because I have $110k of skin in the game and expected more.
I've purchased a number of cars in 15 years that didn't have them.

How many have you purchased in the last two years that doesn’t have it? Would love to know what cars you’re using as comparables.

All of them. Your point? I wasn't talking about two years, I was talking about the over-dramatic statement of 15 years.

Bitch and complain all you want. It is what it is and nothing that you are going to do is going to change it. It's not a federally required item. And yes, most (not all) vehicles have it today.

The car has adaptive cruise control but can’t tell me the distance away from a wall? Come on.
Yep, you got it. The current software does contain the capability to do so.

The vehicle absolutely has the capability, it's just not here today.

Welcome to the Tesla world!

If it was any other manufacturer, the vehicle would not have even been offered for sale.

I was referring to my ex, a 2010 Ford F-150 Lariat Super Crew. Complete with rear proximity alarms and a small video display on the rear-view mirror. It is just unimaginable a $100k truck with over-the-top technology with zero direct rear visibility has no rear proximity alarm. Of course, no hub caps, no FSD you have already paid for and no 360 deg proximity alarms seem to be standard operating procedures for Tesla. I still love my truck. I just wish they would fix the "simple" things before saving the Earth.

Speaking of saving the Earth, my favorite bumper sticker when I lived in the Pacific Northwest: Earth first! We will log the other planets later!

You're one of those...My problem with people who arent car enthusiasts just Tesla enthusiasts. My E46 M3 not Model 3, but actual M3, from 2006 had backup sensors with the Nav package. That's 18 years ago. Even the old 7 series from 2001 had backup sensors.

Kind of why prototypes exist right?

It seems to be obvious that you got your truck too early. Tesla had a choice, start manufacturing without it or wait for it to be al ready. They chose to start manufacturing without it.

It will be here. If that is not suitable, park the truck.

This is VERY black and white.

Bitch and complain all you want. They are currently not available and won't be available until FSD and TeslaVision are ported to the Cybertruck.

This is a black or white situation.

I really don't care what your previous vehicles had. They aren't the Cybertruck. My Model 3 has it, my Model Y has it and that's the exact same software that is currently being ported to the Cybertruck.

This is NOT a question of whether the Cybertruck has it or not. It is that the Cybertruck will have it, just not yet.

You other piece of crap vehicles were exactly the same the day you bought them and the day you sold them. That's not a Tesla. My Cybertruck already has more features that the day I bought it.

Please don't get a Cybertruck nor a Tesla. It is obvious that you are not able to handle the concepts of vehicles that change over time.

Man you are being super defensive for absolutely no reason. It’s a discussion forum. You are the one who brought up the fact that you “purchased a number of cars in 15 years that didn’t have them.” No one made you make that statement.

What everyone else is trying to say is there are many more cars than not above $60k that came with this “feature” out the box. Can you really dispute that despite the fact that you somehow bought all the cars that don’t have this feature day 1 of their purchase?

It’s such a standard feature that many people, including myself, can’t believe that it wasn’t Included right off the bat yet adaptive cruise control was.
Furthermore, with such a long and advanced car this is something many people wish was included when they got the car.

Hopefully you don’t have a nervous breakdown after you read this. Take a breath.

Yes, okay, there are many other vehicles that come with the feature out of the box. Period, Okay?
I'll even say most. Heck even though it doesn't I'd say all.

The Cybertruck doesn't have it yet, it will in the future.

Pretty damn black and white! Bitching doesn't' change it. Reality is reality!
