Drove 468 miles yesterday (thunderstorm rains, fog and late night) with only usual reasons for taking over. Drove around Tuscaloosa and despite no change in FSD version it drove 2x better there this time. Like most FSD folks here, I take over for parking lots , school zones, and active emergency vehicles- otherwise Clement drives me everywhere. Yes- I’ve had about 3 definitely unsafe take overs on 13.2.8 in ~4,000 miles of FSD. None were near misses but all were WTH moments. Compared to any other autopilot- this is years ahead.

I have to say- we need more rapid cycle updates though. Perhaps they are doing that internally with employees but man- for cutting edge technology, this is a very slow deployment cycle.
All development is focused on the June FSDU date. We used to get major updates every 30 days, but the company has different priorities currently.

Yes! The priorities are to roll-out the ride-sharing network on a sub-set of all the cars that will be capable later, to de-bug and streamline the way the service works, ASAP.

This is how to get the service up and running and growing ASAP, in the safest manner possible.

guys, I've reported this multiple times on this forum, but once again:

The FSD model for the Cybertruck is still being emulated. It is not native yet; and still needs millions more miles to reach maturity.
Not trying to call you out, be a troll or a dick but just asking, where did you get this info?

I was at the CT event at the Gigafactory last Friday 4/25, and they were telling everyone by JUNE we'd have unsupervised.
Elon said at the earnings call that it would start in June with Tesla owned Model Ys. When asked when it would come out to consumers he said hopefully by the end of the year, but he definitely thinks by the 2nd half of 2026.

I understand. However, at the Cybertruck Event at the Gigafactory in Austin, TX, last friday, they had a "FSD Experience" in only the CT. And they were announcing FSD unsupervised for the Cybertruck was starting here in JUNE for Texas. We'll see what actually happens.

Potentially for Tesla owned Cybertrucks, even though I doubt it, but it doesn't sound like Elon or Ashok are ready for consumer FSDU anytime soon. They even said they have to figure out the pricing structure for it.

No, I think you’re forgetting that they added a gaggle of people who are in Texas to the early preview beta pool and I suspect that that’s what’s going on here.

We will all see soon enough.

When Elon was specifically asked about FSDU for consumers he said we think in some areas by the end of the year, but we need to be careful. We need it to be really safe, I really think by the 2nd half of next year...(summarized).

Ashok said that in June FSDU would be used by Tesla on the Model Ys in Austin and then expanding to other vehicles.

I know. I’m aware of all of that. But, I find it hard to challenge someone who is at the Gigafactory and told directly in the context of a CT event something different.

Again, especially since we know that they have recruited local testers for early access to new software. They don’t need that for the continual rollout of regular updates.

I don't. Most Tesla employees are clueless. I've been told a list of BS from Tesla employees, especially in regards to FSD.

We'll see soon enough. There are 300 Tesla owned Model Ys driving around Austin to overfit FSD and the local Government believes unsupervised rides will begin June 1.

Agree generally but in my experience that would be limited to sales advisors and service center folk. Elon lives in Austin is at the giga factory fairly regularly and the folks at the CT event would certainly have his attention (to the extent that any is available) and vice versa and I would expect the information that they’re giving out to be a lot more reliable. Again, particularly given the context.

But you’re right, we will see.

Unfortunately, I don't see Columbia, South Carolina on the short list of cities for FSDU to come to for a long time. Nationwide FSD, without geofencing, is more than a year out. Elon hopes by next year, but it wasn't a confident statement.

edit: I think we'll see FSDS specific to the CT before we see any version of FSDU. We are basically using a version of the Model Y's FSD until they get enough data to build one for us. That's when we will get ASS, start FSD from a stop, FSD parking, etc.

fundamental knowledge of how the software works. FSD was available super early after the consumer launch date, and there's no way they racked up enough miles on the test mules to reach a native model.

I think one of the engineers even said it was emulating the Model X because it was the closest size comparison, but I'm not able to find their post on 'X'.

I would think that 99% of the FSD data needed would be applicable for all Tesla passenger vehicles, with a small amount of size referencing for each vehicle for how wide to turn etc.
I think we will obviously benefit from the millions of miles driven by M3 MY, etc
