Wouldn't it be great if Tesla would allow developers a chance to "unlock" developer mode so that users could dabble with (insert your programming language (Python) here) and create apps that the Tesla team (and other users) could "plug in" to the user interface and try? They could be downloadable like a play store or something.

(hey, we can dream) :) Seriously, though, I don't think it is outside the realm of possibilities for Tesla to open a play area and set up a safe API for developers to add content to some sub menu.

This was talked about years ago during the early model S and X days when Tesla would have an SDK where devs could write and submit apps to be deployed after approval. Long are those days. If you want to do anything remotely close, will need to write your own app on top of their now available API
