Is there any information regarding the tires that will be used on cybertruck? Specifically, will there be a non-pneumatic tie option? Asking for a friend…

It would be nice not to have to worry about flat tires. I wonder if airless tires will be a real after market parade and if so how much they would cost?

Tires will definitely be a problem. The mud tires that the CT has in all the picks are unrealistic. The truck would melt them with all its torque. I have a F550 with G rated 14ply tires. They are 100PSI and stiff a rock. Some manufacture will have to make a special tire for the CT. when it first comes out people will complain about the tire life, unless you drive the truck in the “Bay Area” like a girl ….Mark my words

All of the tires I've seen in 315/60-R20 have a max speed rating of 100 mph. While this is arguably plenty, I don't think they can be legally equipped on a vehicle capable of 130 mph.

I cannot find any such laws. As my old snow tires had a lower top speed than my car, I would say probably not a thing?

Perhaps not. I just assumed the litigious factor would prevent a manufacturer from selling a vehicle capable of effortlessly exceeding the structural limitations of OEM parts

People will complain about everything, heck they have started making special EV tires because EV's are so much quieter that road noise became noticeable.

My wife likes the skinny pedal in her Coyote powered F-150, and will do a 4wd drift on curvy dirt roads so we expect to go through tires.

I would expect at least two Cybertruck wheel/tire options. My guess is that a street tire will be standard; perhaps to get good EPA ratings, and an off-road oriented option package. Even better would be a standard street wheel/tire, an upgraded street wheel/tire, and two off-road tire options with different wheel styles. I'm guessing like all of us, but the other Tesla models offer the standard wheel and an upgraded wheel choice.

Might have to go dual motor until tire tech can catch up!

it's an interesting point / thing to watch, depending on how the CT drivetrain is set up

here's a related tire question for those in the know:

in the case of a vehicle with 4 wheel steering, what would be the recommended rotation gymnastics?

i assume it's standard cross-rotation as with full time 4wd vehicles generally, but mildly interested if the 4WS would change anything about that assumption
