Plenty of important artists have had or unfortunately died due to STIs. And the point would be…??‍ ?

Doesn’t make either Keith Haring or Freddie Mercury any less of an artist. STIs have been around seemingly since the dawn of humanity and if you think they aren’t literally everywhere then there are some serious facts that need to be better appreciated. My impression is the “STD” part of the meme is meant to somehow imply “dirty hippies” or some such thing but as it turns out hygiene and prevention of STIs aren’t really the same thing in many cases and listing STIs on the meme is basically like listing “Air” or “humans.”

The whole meme is really just incorrectly derogatory in my experience and perpetuates attitudes that really need to be buried.

This is EXACTLY why I posted it. While the meme is 100% true from my experience, Burner’s over the last few years have gone off the deep end with their tender sensibilities. ??

The Ticket Aid program sold tickets for $225 this year. If you're a primary artist or camp in good standing, some passes are free.

It's not more expensive than camping - though it is specialized camping. You can't just go with a tent and not enough water for the week: You will die.

Well, not really, no one will let you die. Black Rock City (the city that Burning Man builds) has a lower rate of deaths and injury than any other US city, despite the joke, 'safety third'. Because safety is still on the list! And we don't let cars just drive around, the speed limit is 5mph (tho you can get away with 10 or 15 pedal-powered). And everyone is expected to adhere to the 10 principles of participation.

It made me ?! Yeah I read your write up thanks. I have friends that do burning man before it was a trend and thing to put on your gram like you’re cool for going. I feel I can laugh at a meme about it not to mention nothing in it was really not true. Awesome! I’m looking forward to it! I lived in my truck camper (tundra with Lance) for 6 years and I gave it up to get the CT. I really wanna get a camper to live in again. I’ve been holding out for Cyberlandr but that one is taking forever.

They look like everyone else at Burning Man, except when getting on and off at the airport.

One rather famous conservative wrote about his visit to Burning Man and recounted the story of being on the Esplanade and bar hopping and asking for a whisky at a bar and being told, 'No! Only Absinthe!'

...The thing is, that year, that bartender... that was our bar. Well, the camp I was with that year. ?
