My sincerest sympathies to you.
And shame on all those that trash the OP like he was a criminal. There are a lot of arrogant members on this forum.

I just received my Cybertruck after waiting 5 years.
So disappointed!
Somewhere between the factory and my home, someone took it for a 'Joyride' of about 34 miles. The inside was covered in dirty handprints and there was even an empty 'Redbull' can in the rear drivers seat pocket. Also, because it had 2 recalls before I even took possession of it, it came missing the windshield wiper end cap and the Frunk is about 3/4" out of alignment on the right hand side (Facing the truck) probably from when they had to remove the wiper motor on recall. The tires look like they definitely have some mileage on them. And last but not least, the inside white trim is coming loose around the steering column assembly. I do need to add that because I live in Maine, I had to pay Tesla an extra $750.00 to have a 3rd party carrier deliver the vehicle so I was not home when they dropped it off. I tried to check the camera history only to find that it had all been deleted.
Has anyone else experienced this 'New Vehicle' condition?

My experience the car delivery is they are non-educated, careless thugs. The ONLY time I had a white glove transport delivery experience was when I made the sale contingent upon the condition of the car - when delivered [ it was over 1,600 miles from point of sale]. It came in a covered special transport trailer.

Tesla likely used a transport logistics broker : who went to the cheapest guy Flatbed.

I've had that bad experience too - open flatbed delivery of a Pinzgauer [another exotic vehicle] it was broken into and the gas tank was siphoned empty...because open flatbed. Also, the delivery driver was in love with the vehicle - offered to buy it - then confessed he left it at the end of the flatbed - so he could drive it around as much as possible!, when delivering the others cars - and used it to run errands, when he overnight parked the flatbed!?....why would he think telling me that would be a good idea?

My Beast was super dirty inside when I picked it up. I didn't ask for a rush or anything like that. The glass was very dirty and also had adhesive on it that I still need to scrape off.

OK I’m just gonna say it because honesty:

Word to the wise:

When having a $100k-$120k shipment delivered… be there for the delivery ??‍♂

Unless $120k means nothing to you because you are THAT wealthy, who does this?

Sorry not sorry. That was totally stupid of you OP. Not gonna lie.

Sorry you had a bad experience but at least partially blame yourself for not being responsible.

My 2 cents, FWIW.

Cheers
There’s an old saying “never judge a man until you’ve walked a mile in his shoes” before you start calling someone stupid you might want to consider the fact that you have no details, for all you know the guy could be a doctor who got called out on an emergency just before his was due to take delivery. Also, if the delivery was arranged by Tesla and Tesla were paid for it the delivery company is their subcontractor and they are responsible.

your issue isn't with Tesla, its with the third party delivery company.

A company is responsible for the actions of their sub-contractors. That includes Tesla. Would it have been better if the Marineman was there - yes. Should it have been necessary - no.

if marineman arranged the delivery with the 3rd party company, then it would between him and the 3rd party. If Tesla completed the order, then the 3rd party is representing Tesla, and their poor performance/delivery is a poor reflection on Tesla.

That said, it is well documented that several of us have had poor delivery experiences, and members of this forum have posted things to watch out for so we can help each other. For that I am thankful.

Condolences on your loss.

That part isn't clear at all and the OP doesn't clarify. This whole thread is a goat rodeo.

Incorrect. In states that Tesla is not allowed to deliver vehicles, it would be illegal for Tesla to be in charge of the delivery.

Yall people go to bat hard for tesla.

Tesla is responsible for hiring the carrier, it's on them.
By law the buyer must contract for delivery in states where Tesla cannot legally deliver them.

We need to get those archaic protectionist laws off the books so Tesla can do business directly with the customer in all 50 states.

My Neice in Vermont, as many folks up in those states have to travel to Paramus NJ to pick up their cars and tricks. Yes, there are that many pro-dealer states in the Northeast!

AFAIK, basically everyone in Vermont and NH have made the pilgrimage to NJ.
And the ironic thing is that there are Service Centers in the states.

He would have still had to have signed off on it being dropped off without a signature or his presence in the event of his absence and that is what I am warning against. Not saying he is stupid, I’m saying it’s a decision that was stupid in that regard.

Being a physician myself, I would never allow for this possibility, for instance. So i’ll stand behind my comments as food for thought for others.

We can agree to disagree. I respect your take and appreciate you sharing it… AND there is no way I would ever allow for a setup like that for a delivery for something so expensive. To me this is simply a common sense issue.

Cheers

In other words, government regulation strikes again. And the OP and others blame Tesla.

Did you read this from the OP?

Because everything was via texting to my 'Tesla Advisor' I was never given an option as to when to have my vehicle delivered. It was basically a one way communication from them.
As a matter of fact, when they texted me of the delivery date of 06/29/24, I 'Texted' them back explaining to them that day would not work for me because my wife had just passed away and I would be away at her wake and funeral on that day.
I never heard back from them, but when I got home that night, it was sitting in my driveway
