That's a good plan, buckle first then use a seat cover/cushion. I'll probably go with that also so the seats don't get damaged from the gear.This is what I do for heavy objects in the seat. Just buckle it first. If it’s people, buckle it first then maybe consider a seat cushion so they don’t feel the buckle.
