When you wanna do small patches like that, grab a piece of masking tape, mark it, then transfer the tape to the material, and cut along the marks.

I just put this on my CT. It’s on the expensive side, but worth it IMO. However, if you’re a perfectionist or OCD, you might want to get help. Mine looks good, but if you look closely it’s not perfect.
