That's how I've heard people transfer stuff before.

Hmmm now I'm wondering. I have 2 reservations. The first one is about 40,000 the night of the reveal. The 2nd one is over a million. I have no interest in buying a AWD at $80,000 but if that 2nd one comes in with a price reduction to say $65,000 I may bite. What to do with numero uno.

By the time your second res comes up, there won't be a line, as in first come first serve
If Tesla does that, there will be even more pissed off customers. Order #2 was made on 9/19/2020. Well over 3 years ago, and just shy of 10 months after the reveal. Legally, I locked in FSD at that time. So I don't know how that would work, if they threw out the reservation numbers.

Members have reported thats what happened with m3. At some point ordering was opened to all
With the Model 3, people who were still waiting for the $35K Standard Range RWD were given first dibs at more expensive trims (before latecomers were allowed to order more expensive trims). In otherwords, while some people without long-standing reservations did accept delivery of more expensive trims before Tesla even offered the $35K trim, your reservation still maintained preference over new orders for that trim.

The reservation line is never 100% precise, because Tesla has to also connect you to a matching vehicle in your area, so geography does play a role in it (as does luck), but sometimes a more distant location will find earlier delivery than a closer reservationist (however these geography based inconsistencies tend to amount to less than a month or so).

I think with the Cybertruck the trim level you reserved will not matter much (Tesla will likely contact you when your turn comes up and allow you to order any available trim).
