Whenever someone invents a Time Machine, I’ll go back to the framers and ask them to clarify the 2A in explicit detail that a 5 year old could understand.
Fun fact: the 2nd amendment was the most deliberated subject of the entire Bill of Rights; they spent an enormous amount of time arguing the exact language to use so that it was as ironclad as possible.

My 1911 is simply in that compartment on the left of the driver's side covered by small towel
with my water or Coke bottle on top.
That seems a bad location in case of a collision.

I like pics over words.

That seems like a bad place for many reasons.

C'mon guys, lock them up. Loose guns are more likely to be used against their owner than used against someone else.

I think most of us do (I have grandkids in truck...so guns always locked)...I have a magnetic mount in similar place as pic but dont store gun there...that's just my driving through the hood position (which I havent used yet and prob never will).

No CO Law Jan 1 - cant leave unlocked or visible guns in vehicle - too many break in's / gun thefts from vehicles apparently. Not a prob for me, but a change none the less.

Nah man, they nailed it. There are a few lectures available on the internet of a group of historic linguists that break it down with a very technical analysis. I'll post a link if I can find it again.

For some reason I thought I also added this photo. Guess I didn’t.
And please explain why you think this is a bad location. I am left handed, it’s by my knee, and I don’t drive with my window rolled down. What else you are trying to suggest this location is bad? Please do tell me

I prefer the proposed wording of John Paul Stevens.

That's a great one!

Just, a holster where you might kick it or it pop off in a collision and become a hard, metal object banging around the cabin - let alone what a cop might do if they saw it...

I just come from a very cautious angle when it comes to guns. My father was mistakenly shot and killed by an officer.

A soft 2 long gun bag fits perfectly under the rear seat and stays put pretty good. Why complicate things with mounts?

smash and grab can get to soft case under rear seat...and new CO law, must be non visible and locked when vehicle not attended. + for me, no non locked guns with grand kids in car. Just different level's of paranoia I suppose.

It’s an AR platform so that’s a good point of using the mag well mount under the rear seat. I’d prefer to be able to access it from front seat so it’d be up to ergonomics to figure out if it’d work.
My first choice is having it mount next to front seats facing forward using the standard mounts available today. Just hoping to get some ideas to take advantage of the CT unique design approach.
I’m wondering about this also. Maybe a folding hand brace with short barrel would fit in the area in the middle of the front seats. Lot of companies make the stove bins. A bigger bin with small rifle may work. I would then use a stopbox chamber lock for a bit more safety.
