I appreciate honest factual posts. Thank you. I could really become complacent and overconfident because my experiences have been really good. Posts that share their not so favorable experiences remind me that this is still a maturing technology. Learning from others experiences is smart. Thinking we know everything, not so smart.

Well, i did a lot more driving with v14 yesterday… all i can say is that its much better in some ways and much worse in others.
before anyone reads this: i understand FSD is a work in progress, and is amazing cutting edge tech, but pretending it is perfect is delusional. It has a long way to go before unsuper
there were probably 5-6 episodes of sudden hard braking over an hr or so of driving, which is what i think people are returning to as “jabbing”. This is super uncomfortable and not predictable and not great for demonstrating the quality of FSD to first timers.
it seems to be erring more on the side of taking action than hesitating, but this also results in rapid do/dont/do/dont with things like lane changing which also isnt great.
auto park really still is not good. It pulled about 3/4 of the way nose into a spot then stopped and completed. Auto unpark is good though.
it was also really heavy rain on the way home. Fsd has always had a hard time with bad weather, but in particiular it was not doing great with maintaining the lane, it seemed more intent on following the car in front, regardless of where the lane was. Additionally, 10-20 notifications to clean my camera of dirt and debris, as if it was my fault the camera couldnt see. Meanwhile the BAW is freaking out going at max speed. The little picture it shows on the notification you could barely see. This makes me very nervous for the future of fsd in bad weather.
even my partner said “well, they likely just wont even have it available during bad weather… it just doesnt make sense to not have a driver there for situations like this” she called it a “fair weather system”
i agree- i think that for a long time after unsupervised comes out, it will revert to supervised foe bad weather.
the plus is that when its not doing any of those, it feels confident. Especially at the start of the ride, in parking lots.
Maybe i should start recording my drives on youtube so i dont get accused of “fake posting my experiences lol

Because i had the perception of a low risk of physical damage if the impact did occur, i was curious if it actually would hit it. once it did, i hit the brake which resulted in a disengagement, which will ideally get reviewed by the neural net at least, if not an engineer to understand why it happened and ideally provide data for improvement. Sometimes you gotta crack some eggs to make an AI. Lol

I find v14 added some nice features but is much worse than 13. I would go back to 13 if I could.
