There is no "junk science" involved. I'm sorry you don't like the fact that everything you are doing from EV's to solar panels are more efficient, less polluting, and yes, better for the environment. That's right, you're just the same as a "greenie" even if you aren't doing it for those reasons. Maybe you're unaware of the entire reasons for Tesla to exist but it was a direct response to the existential threat of climate change.

Yes he's tossed away science for what he thinks is politically advantageous in the short term. Same as the oil companies who had long ago done studies proving the impact fossil fuels and emissions would have on the climate but suppressed that data and lobbied for the opposite position. Neither is admirable and both are counter to basic physics.
