For supposed EV "failure", no used CT deals.

Imagine if more people qualified.. maybe there would be less inventory sitting.

maybe there would be a supply problem.

maybe the EV Acceptance as a whole would be greater as the incentive implies.
Although I have received seven federal EV tax credits, they are fundamentally evil. Elon Musk agrees with this view. Government should not be in the business of picking winners and losers, nor should it attempt to impact individual behavior through tax policy. The unintended consequences are invariably worse than the intended results. However, on a personal level, if you want to pay me enough to do a thing, I will do that thing. Hence my fleet of EVs, five solar panel arrays, geothermal wells and green homes. Insane that the taxpayers are subsidizing wealthy lifestyles through borrowing public funds (deficits), but so be it. Truly evil public policy. ?

Tesla sales rep in central Texas told me there’s no 2024s in Texas and only about 20 left in the US inventory….said my only move is to get a 2025 demo vehicle and not to expect any 2024s to be moved around interstate.

That's an odd thing to lie about.

Tesla shows 1700 in inventory and Texas has the highest number.

Austin has a ton of FS available.

Is it possible to lease a 24 FS ? Don’t see that option.

Doesn't look like it. That's odd.
Odd? Or an indication that even Tesla cannot figure out lease residual value for a CT at this stage given current depreciation rates? They’ve certainly been burned on their assumptions for $100k+ CTs that are leased. No way anyone is going to buy one of those out at the contract price, which exceeds current MSRP for a new truck… Tesla will have lots of off-lease inventory starting in about 18 months.

...more efficient sustainable technologies that benefit the nation as they become more widely adopted. True energy independence is a huge boost for national security and reduced pollution is a benefit to society.

Agreed on energy independence, but for national security reasons. However, anyone driving an EV or installing solar panels using taxpayer funds to do so, or even just encouraged by such incentives, thinking they are doing a single thing to make the world a better place, are delusional. You’ve been captured by groupthink and false predicates.

The only "groupthink capture and false predicates" is thinking that individual actions have no effect. Individual actions when widely adopted become group actions. That's how a society functions. The millions of people using solar and driving EV's are making a difference and when it becomes common place the impact will be massive.

Sad response. So many have been trapped by the woke mind virus, buying into junk science and self-satisfied, smug, confirmation-biased actions. I drive EVs and sell energy back to the grid from five solar arrays, own a carbon-negative business, do all the things folks like you think government should be encouraging. I do it because it is financially rewarding to take advantage of these chumps - again, pay me to do a thing, I’ll do that thing. But it is truly immoral for governments to borrow from future generations to subsidize wealthy lifestyles today, couched in the “greater good” mentality seen in your response. Sad. The unintended consequences of government actions are poorly reported and rarely understood, but they are quite real.

I am betting you think USAID mostly did good things too. Sad.

There is no "junk science" involved. I'm sorry you don't like the fact that everything you are doing from EV's to solar panels are more efficient, less polluting, and yes, better for the environment. That's right, you're just the same as a "greenie" even if you aren't doing it for those reasons. Maybe you're unaware of the entire reasons for Tesla to exist but it was a direct response to the existential threat of climate change.

You might want to read this piece, written by a "woke" Elon Musk. Here's a quote:

" This is because the overarching purpose of Tesla Motors (and the reason I am funding the company) is to help expedite the move from a mine-and-burn hydrocarbon economy towards a solar electric economy, which I believe to be the primary, but not exclusive, sustainable solution. "

Also Elon:

"“If we wait and delay the change, the best case is simply delaying the inevitable transition from sustainable energy. This is the best case if we don’t take action now,” he said.

“The worst case, however, is more displacement and destruction than all the wars in history combined. These are the best and worst case scenarios. This is why I call it the dumbest experiment in history,” he said."
