I understand where you are coming from. The internet is full of FUD and I did not want to be a part of potentially hurting their sales. I did not mention the installer or film maker as I did not think it was pertinent to the situation or the question "Has anyone else heard this".

The fact that others have heard/seen this confirms it has happened before to me. Also the fact that he told me this up front makes me think it happened to them and they are not sure why or he just did not want to mess with it. He said the windshields are expensive and hard to get (I do not doubt that) so who really knows why that shop refuses to do them. Either way I will ask others at the next Tesla Owners meetup and get feedback from them. I am sure there is someone in my area who can confidently tint the CyberTruck. Thanks.
We’ve tinted 5 windshields over the past 90 days. No issues. Xpel prime XR black film. Okc, ok

XPEL Prime XR plus at 45% on windshield and 20% on sides. My installer recommended it. No issues so far!

I’m getting mine tinted tomorrow, state of Georgia just passed the law on “No tint on the windshield” and any tinting company that applies will lose their business license unless the client have a prescription from their ophthalmologist.

Well, I am considering NOT getting ANY tint (or maybe just the sides) when we get our CT...

I have really good tint on my Model Y, crystalline (3M) which blocks almost ALL the UV and heat... Or does it... I am beginning to think that the ONE VIDEO I saw (sorry, no link) saying that Tesla's don't really NEED tinting for 'sun' protection was in fact right! My roof is tinted 50% (well, ADDED 50% tint, there was already some of course) as are side windows. The Windshield has 80% on it (not supposed to have any).

I did this to prevent heat in summer and UV ruining the inside...

Well, guess what... It's not any cooler than BEFORE the tint!! Which is not to say it was really BAD before... It would get up to 130 F on hot summer days and it STILL DOES!!

Apparently, the heat is coming from the actual WINDOWS and BODY of the car and not because the sun is shining through them onto objects inside (seats, etc.). because when I use a meter to check the temps on items inside (after 20 minutes of full sun and then again after 2 hours) the temperature doesn't change all that much for things like the dashboard, steering wheel, seats, etc... All of which I thought WOULD absorb more (being mostly black)... I was getting temps of 85 F after 20 min (on a day where temps were 78) and went up to 132 F after 2 hours (and stayed there, not getting any hotter)... But the WINDOWS?? They were HOT, HOT, HOT!! Both before and after tint was installed... Temps on roof glass was 148 F after 2 hours...

Something tells me that Tesla already has pretty good tinting (for UV and heat at least)

But the good news is that just opening the windows (with app) keeps it 'not so bad'... Under 100 at least... (for Southern CA that's not bad)

I know that 'cheap' tints can actually RAISE the temps inside (because of the dark colors absorbing the heat).

Oh, I also note that using a windshield 'screen' (cheapy non-reflective one) only changed the temps by 2 degrees!! Going to have to borrow my wife's 'reflector' one to see if that makes a difference...

Anyone else experience this phenom?
