I think you will have success. Mine was low and needed to be raised up. Also forward at the front.
Unless the bump stops are already at minimum height. In that case you may have to experiment with extending them and seeing if it makes any difference. That will tell you if the trunk is touching them or if there is a gap. If there is a gap I would expect lowering the latch itself is the solution, like I did.
