Looks like v12.5.1 is rolling out for some (not Cybertruck yet). Hopefully HW3 vehicles will also get v12.5.x before too long.

Finally! Commuting 1-2 hours everyday without this has been brutal. Cybertruck was my first Tesla and I am looking forward to this! Am I setting my expectations too high?
CyberTruck is my first Tesla also! Have been looking forward to FSD, as I’m kind of an engineering guy and like gadgets/features… BUT, had to take my CT into service and they gave me a Model S. Did some playing around in a parking lot, found out it had FSD, figured out how to enable, and the rest is history!! OMG! Very capable, more than I had imagined, turn signals, changing lanes to let faster cars by, etc etc. point the GPS and it will take you there. Very impressed, can’t wait now to get in CT!!

Since I had an FSD trial version in my 2023 Model X that I received in January, 2024, I’m not expecting too much of an improvement.
In my case, I tried letting it take me all the way home after a band gig 75 miles away (at 1:00 AM). The car would stop at flashing yellow lights and would keep moving over to the inside lane of a four-lane highway, with no other traffic. I would use the turn signal to move to the outside lane, and after a few miles, it would move to the inside lane. And then there were the “phantom” brake checks! It was a bit frustrating.
In order to get my CyberTruck without waiting, I reluctantly agreed to the extra $20,000 which included future FSD. We’ll see how it goes….

To my knowledge, the FSD system is not based on memorizing the real world but rather have the ability to interpret the video images. The solution therefore should be for the AI to recognize what a pot hole looks like and avoid it (just like we do!)
Hopefully a lot better than I do...

I leave August 12th for a road trip to northern Ontario. No internet to update. No cell service. I hope I get the update before I leave. Would be nice as it is a 14 hour drive.

It nice to see they rolled out a .1 release pretty quickly and it is supposed to go "wide". Not sure how wide that really is since no HW 3 or Cybertruck. As far as I can tell none of the 4 bullets have been addressed yet either.
- Earlier and more natural lane change decisions.
- Vision-only driver monitoring with sunglasses.
- End-to-End on highway.
- FSD on Cybertruck.

So optimistically a .2 release optimized for HW3.0 in the next couple of weeks?
A version .3 for Cybertruck and hopefully most of the above bullets end of August?

I'm also wondering if they will port FSD 12.5.x to the new 2024.26 (Currently FSD 12.3.6) branch as they seem to be starting to roll that out.
