FSD 14 now rolling out to employees

Elon said in an interview last week they are aiming for the end of the year for V14. People are still saying RT is V13. I assume employee testing prior to RT.

There is another rumor that Tesla is trying to push V14 to some cars by the annual investor meeting on Nov 6.

Edit: The employee group that has historically received new FSD about a month before rollout on Teslafi doesn't have it, either.

I know that he said we would probably have it by the end of the year, but someone reported that the special group was getting it and that triggered my internal timer. Now my internal timer is in limbo because there has been no confirmation of that claim. That might push Elon's prediction back by that amount of time. Of course, Elon's predictions are rarely realized, but my internal timer starts when his prediction is made, or when the first loud mouth claims that the timer should start.

As someone who had 2 cars in the safety score scam, it can be months after the initial employee group gets a major release before the rest of thr fleet sees it. Some employees received V12 almost 7 months the before influencers and they got it about a month before the first group.

Set your follow distance on the screen.

What's the problem?

Follow distance isn't used as a setting if FSD I believe, just on TACC. You can set it super far on TACC but then if you switch to FSD, its going to do what it want, and that is usually follow pretty close at lower speeds and backs off at higher speeds, but definitely not the max amount.

In dense city traffic, follow-distance is dictated by those around you. If you back off by 1 car length, then a car appears there lol.

But on a two-lane rural road, with light traffic, following too closely is an aggressive move intended to intimidate the slower vehicle ahead. Since this never really works, I usually back way off so that the other driver can focus on what's ahead instead of worrying about that big truck in the mirror.

Interesting. In our rural areas we have shoulders to allow slower cars to give way to faster traffic. If you give a good distance, then traffic ahead does not give way. If you close in, most will pull to the side to let you by.

When you go by we flash our hazards for a few seconds to say “thank you”. For the most part, it’s not seen as aggression but a as a request to get by.
