This has been pretty frustrating where FSD does not reduce speed when it should and I can't find a way to force it to reduce speed without disengaging FSD.

Yesterday on a long drive the speed limit dropped from 55 to 30 regularly. The truck saw the 30MPH sign yet continued it's 57MPH speed well past that sign which is definitely problematic.

In looking into this topic, I found some articles saying that you can use the right scroll wheel to force a reduction in speed but that doesn't do anything at all. I can scroll that wheel downward as much as I want but it has zero effect on my speed.

So I've been fully disengaging FSD, reducing speed, and then re-enabling it. If I can influence FSD through acceleration without it disengaging I don't understand why I can't also influence it to reduce it's current speed.

Lastly, and because I don't think this merits its own thread...FSD follows way too closely to other vehicles to the point where I frequently disengage it and pull back a little bit because I'd be upset if someone were riding my ass the way my truck is doing it to others on FSD.

Is anyone else encountering any of this?

I take the opportunity almost every time I have to disengage fsd to reduce speed to send a choicely worded critique ?. I'm sure it will get better eventually.

It is worse is in school zones. Sometimes it SLAMS on the brakes while the speed limiti is 20mph and it slows to 6mph!!! There was no one behind me once so I let it decide what to do and it slowed to 6mpg. Other times it is slowing down way past the school zone speed limit but i hit the gas and stay at 20mph.

That hasn't been my experience.

In fact, I've noticed your truck has a lot of negative behavior that is unusual.

I think this happens when map data and NN awareness differ, and the NN eventually overrides and realizes "ohnoimspeedinginaschoolzoneslamthebrake!"

It won't "slam on the brakes" when it decides it should be going slower, unless an accident is imminent. It slows down in a normal manner unless there is an emergency.

I'm speaking from personal experience. My truck has hit the brakes hard enough in a school zone to be considered "slammed" when it finally figured out it was going much too fast. Had there been a person behind me, they would have considered themselves "brake checked".

Also, my Model 3 has done this to me a few times. It's an issue across the board that needs to be corrected.

Unusual? Not for me! The post at the start of this thread describes my EXACT experience with this Truck. New to FSD, so glad to hear someone else is experiencing what I am . I will try the settings described above to see if that helps the problems with speed control in FSD for the Cybertruck.

I have the same problem with my M3, the speed limit decision process is so screwed up. Reads the Min speed on the tollway as the limit i.e. 45mph. I always drive with my right foot above the accelerator just incase.

Turn off Automatic Set Speed Offset, then the scroll wheel will work.
awesome thanks for that tip. i was having the same issue. for some reason, even though the street my house is off of has one speed limit sign of 55, the map thinks the speed limit is 25, so i can't use FSD on my street. problem is you get negatively dinged on your safety score for disengaging fsd which sucks. but maybe the scroll wheel will help.
