Regardless, I expect the Teslabot price to be out of my reach for the foreseeable future.
I expect it will be completely unattainable for the foreseeable future!

A $350k TeslaBot is going to have ZERO impact on Tesla’s market cap. Zero impact on humanity and the quality of life.

Those are the thing‘s Musk seems to care about. Making a niche robot doesn’t fit into that model.

TeslaBot will come only after it makes sense in those terms. No niche TeslaBots.

Well yes, BUT the most obvious initial use for automatons is space exploration. A $1M robot is a bargain compared to the cost of sending a breathing/eating/pooping human into space. The robots can take all the risk in setting up an extraterrestrial colony before the humans arrive.

All this activity finances and furthers general robotics research.

It’s going to be out of everyone’s reach for a long while. You think the the CT is taking a long time to produce, Teslabot will be well past CT.

But it will come. Perhaps we need to get your reach extended so that by the time Teslabot is being produced, your reach will have applicable extension.

SW software, HW hardware, and WW wetware.
Agree that WW in space is a big issue. It is way to dry and cold. Not counting for the air, food and poo as you indicated...

edit: If Tesla starts mass-producing Teslabot, it will prepare and reduce the cost for the Mars mission with Teslabot only to get started. It makes sense to do it soon here. check this out for fun: HARDWARE / SOFTWARE / WETWARE – PRESENTATION PREVIEW – Computational Poetics 2017 (sfu.ca)

The TeslaBot as presented was designed for use here on earth. The specific reason they use the human form factor is because most of the things it will be interacting with are designed for humans to interact with. That’s not Mars, that’s earth.

But Elon's goal is to colonize Mars, so the equipment will be human-centric. Our space probes are all essentially robots, but a general-purpose android is better suited to prepare for our arrival.

English can be so imprecise at times.

I doubt that YOU dying WITH Elon is going to have any impact on humanity as a whole. If the requirement is that you die WITH Elon then I'm hoping you will be giving Elon a say in the matter.

Just the way you worded your statement, my immediate thought was that you wanted to go to Mars once Elon was there and then do a murder-suicide to have you both die at the same time. That seems less than helpful for humanity.

If instead, you were trying to make the following points I can get on board with your plan:
1) Elon is trying to help humanity by making us multi-planetary.
2) Elon plans to go to Mars and probably die there eventually.
3) There isn't much else I think I can do in support of humanity here on earth.
4) I'd like to support Elon's mission by going to Mars myself.
5) I'd also like to die on Mars when my time comes.

I get it. Being precise in English can get very wordy and less than readable.

Elon is too busy to go to Mars.

How about we send Jeff Bezos instead. One way preferred.

Also, send along 1m lawyers and polit Ian’s to get the legal system squared before we get there.

Um... Can we send the lawyers, politicians and Jeff Who? to a warm sunny desert location instead? Say Venus? That way we can still have Mars for the rest of humanity.

I am sorry, I am just one person trying to say something. I do not plan murder-suicide I do plan a victory based on hope. Yes, I do put a lot of hope in Elon and humanity. I believe, he is a nice intended men that I have a LOT of respect for. My stocks are telling me that these days too. Is it wrong to do so?. Yes, I am ready to go to Mars with Elon... At 61 and 41 years in the Canadian Government, while dealing with "social workers" and a long unfair divorce, my work is done here.

I totally get it. No judgment intended. I have lived in international situations with multiple languages and know that sometimes what is intended is not what others will hear or understand. Not to worry. I hope you do get to Mars one day.

You know what, if Elon is ready to do and risk it, I will do it too while my four adult kids and two granddaughters can stay right here.

Maybe "I WILL BE BACK"
