Per Ashok Elluswamy, an Autopilot / AI engineer at Tesla.

"Cybertruck will start with parking assistance features, given that it ain't exactly the easiest vehicle to park. Initial release is slated for end of this week. FSD for Cybertruck expected in Sep."

Trust me, I understand this and this is what’s annoying. Do you think those cars will ever get it….the answer is no. They have ignored and moved on and they hope you do too. I have had 3 Tesla and never purchased self driving because of this very issue. lol I figured since it was available this would not be an issue but guess not lmfao ?
So you purchase a truck, knowing all this info, then come complain because the very complex problem the team is solving isn’t on the truck yet (which you are aware of at the time of purchase). I struggle with this mentality… if you are so annoyed with this, why buy? Complaining about your decision to buy the FS, knowing full well the FSD was a few months out (not like 2 years out mind you). When they ship it, you will have it for the life of the car.. 20 years of you so choose! Sorry, I just don’t understand complaining unless you are complaining at yourself for the choice you made. I love the truck.. it’s amazing even without using FSD currently. I knew full well I was buying a truck with FSD that I might be waiting even until fall.. but I knew that and “counted the costs” as they say.. I still purchased the truck knowing full well it wasn’t done.. call me foolish, sure, but when you chose the foundation series, I’d like to think buyers knew what their decision was getting them into

I am getting better and better at parking the CT, I back in with that bad boy and have nailed it several times now.

Distance measuring is so easy with the CT, follow the line of the back bumper. Stop just before its at the area of contact = all good!

Its the 4 wheel turning that makes the CT parking "interesting". It simply doesn't react like a truck. haha!
Too many years for me with a 1999 F-150 and 2013 Model S to easily adjust to Cybertruck parking. The truck shape feels "wrong" on one hand and the lines on the display are "wrong" for a Tesla. ?

FSD USED to be super expensive. That new 3 year package including free supercharging and premium connectivity makes it a bargain. If that is offered on the non-Foundation CTs it takes away a good bit of the reason to have bought foundation series in my opinion.

I have FSD on my 2018 MS and it is the main reason I bought a CT instead of Chevy or Rivian. When it works, it just plain works. Still waiting for the much ballyhooed HW3 Update that is supposed to be here any second. Even 12.3 works pretty stinking well so not losing sleep over it.

One thing i haven't figured out with parallel parking is that once i get the back wheel close to the curb, and then turn the streering wheel all the way to get the front in, the back wheels steer further away from the curb. The back of the car ends up being further away from the curb than the front.

Its almost as if I need to get the back wheels on the curb before trying to get the front into the parking spot in order to end up with the front and back equally close to the curb.
@HaulingAss explains the technique well

It means alerts about how close you are to hitting something. It's not automatic parking. It looks like this below:

Doesn’t seem like much is getting added.
Thanks.

I am waiting on 12.5-lite for HW3 as well. I have 12.4 and it stinks and wish I could go back to 12.3.

I highly doubt October. I’m still thinking Dec 2024 at the earliest.

This is why Cybertruck can fit in such a small parallel parking space. Two tricks compared to a car lacking rear-steer:

1) Back in at a greater angle to the curb.

2) Back closer to the curb before cranking the front in.

The more you do of #1, the less you will do of #2.

Yes, it's different, no, it's not any harder once you get the hang of it. It's actually easier because it turns away from the curb more sharply
