FSD with a trailer?

I haven’t considered getting FSD due to most of my miles include my work trailer. Is it possible FSD can compensate for a trailer?

About 5 years ago, Autopilot would be completely disabled when Trailer Mode was active, so it seems like they are making incremental improvements.

Currently. That doesn't mean it won't in the future. Full Self Driving buyers would be the first to get any driving features that involve towing, though.

Elon has suggested adding cameras to the trailer via the wireless or wired network that's already in the car.

FSD is a way to pre-pay for upgrades for the automated driving features that Tesla is developing. So when Tesla develops more towing features, FSD owners get it first.

I tow frequently for long distances and would LOVE to have autosteer functionality while towing. Another nice feature for towing would be a hitch view from the rear camera to assist connecting the trailer.

I don't see FSD coming to the CT while towing anytime soon (if ever). There is a mountain of technical and liability reasons why.

We have heard basically nothing on this front from the development of the semi-truck.

I can confirm Traffic Aware Cruise Control works while a trailer is connected on my CT. I do not have FSD and Autosteer is not yet available separately from FSD, so I cannot tell you if Autosteer or FSD are available when towing a trailer. The CT knows when a trailer is connected, presumably via the trailer light connector. Anybody reading this ever tried FSD while towing? Does it work?

Another nice feature for towing would be a hitch view from the rear camera to assist connecting the trailer.

The rear view camera that’s built into all CTs does provide a nice view of the hitch making it very easy to hook up a trailer.
