This has been rattling around in my head for several weeks, having back then seen the new GFTX entrance design from flyovers by Joe, as well as images shared by Musk.

Maybe this has been obvious to others, and I simply haven't seen it mentioned (because it's so obvious?), but to me this entrance design seems pretty clearly inspired by the sorts of surface inspection quality control light tunnel systems used in the automotive industry

including at Tesla

while used in part for final pass QC of paint, these light tunnels also evidence other surface imperfections in panels, alignment, and such body conformity issues.

anywho, seems to me the inspiration for the factory entrance - and a clever one. i would think the ultimate plan will be do display the vehicles upon the black (marble?) elevated pad in the middle of the paths (to either side) leading up to the door? As they had sort of done, in a rough way (before it was more completed), for the cyber roundup investor meeting earlier this year

I don't think they'll put vehicles up there. There are lights under the edge and the CT is awfully heavy to hope the marble doesn't crack.

I was thinking the first picture looked like a Plaid badge in 3D.

I'm also wondering if the water feature up front is to demo CT amphibious mode. ?

maybe so

but I'd *think* the engineers at Tesla could solve for this very basic problem - the right sort of ramp fixes it

but, if they don't plan to put vehicles there, it becomes a strange feature to have in the front of the building - the obviously don't expect it to be a walkway

It's obvious from the first photo that Elon posted. It's an infinity tunnel.

Walk through there, and you are entering the Plaid Zone.

obviously not too obvious, at least to me ?

funny choice, for a place that doesn’t build any Plaid?

maybe it’s the thought that counts
