I understand the resale value point but it really doesn’t matter unless you’d need to sell it for whatever reason or that was the point of the initial purchase. I’ll use it primarily as a daily driver but also need to tow my boat.

While waiting for CT and before they started to be released, I had to buy a truck thinking that if I was lucky, I’d get the opportunity to buy one in the fall of this year. I had an older model Suburban I’d been dumping money into limping it along hoping to put a “Free” sign on when I brought my CT home.

Well they began releasing them in November and I got the order invite in December. I now have to sell the “hold me over” truck that has depreciated in value about 50%. That’s a hit I really didn’t want to take and the reason I was dumping money into the Suburban but this what it is.

I don’t have any plans on selling the CT anytime soon and will eventually trade it in on a newer model at some point. I’m sure depreciation will matter then, but I would have gotten more enjoyment out of it than the money I’d lose.

I just got mine a week ago. It is a fun toy. You just need to be comfortable in buying something that will be worth alot less at some point just like any higher end tesla (x , s plad etc).
For me it's time, I want it now (says the 2 year old)! Then I'll use my second reservation to trade it in for a refreshed one a few years down the road! Not financially brilliant for sure, but that's what's going to happen!

That's ok, will trade for the updated one! Which in theory will be cheaper as well!
same boat and pulled the trigger on a Beast
and my wife has to get over a Beast (timing? but ordered), KTM 1390 Super Duke (March) and a STARK VARG (March)...I'll be sucking up for a while, but hey, not my fault with the timing of the Beast and Varg, I've waited years for both!

Not unlike yourself, Ive been driving an 03 Jeep Wrangler as my primary driver. Its in good condition, but drives like a Jeep Wrangler. Got tired o f waiting and bought a Subaru Legacy Sport 2 weeks ago.
So that would need to be dealt with now.
Good problems to have I suppose.

Time flies….going foward the EV market will be quickly evolving. There will be new products and refinement in the coming years. If you have doubts you dont want the could have should have hound you. Do what makes you comfortable knowing at some point these trucks will be depreciating assets.

Good points from both of you. I have a lot to consider, did I mention I am married. Im sure she would get over it, she knows how long Ive waited, and it would have no impact what so ever on our household income.
YOLO! Hahaha

Seriously tho, The question to me is how much joy would it bring you if you got it early?

I chose to order the FS, took delivery yesterday and love it! Mucho joy! ?
