Tesla Cybertruck Got Rear Ended! Bumper: Repair or Replace? IMG_7443

Got rear ended. Messed up my rear fascia and trailer hook cover. Should I get it it repaired or do I have to get it replaced. And how much do you guys think it would be for either options?

Without an inspection (removal of the bumper and hitch cover), it's impossible to say for sure. My guess is you will only need new covers installed to be as good as new.

But why is this even a question? Was it a hit and run? The person's insurance who hit you should pay 100% for whatever it needs.

My Y was rear ended and at first we thought it was just cosmetic but a deeper dive revealed that the hitch was bent and had to be replaced. I’d inspect the hitch carefully and the casting where the hitch attaches. The Whistling Diesel video where the CT was dropped on it’s rear end broke the hitch from the casting. I would check in super fine detail.

I tow once in a while, so I leave the cover off and the tow receiver exposed. If you plan on doing that, and there's no further damage, then I bet you'd barely notice. On the other hand, something of yours was degraded through no fault of your own, so having it replaced probably makes the most sense...
