Yesterday afternoon was the third time I had been rear-ended while completely stopped at a red light or due to local traffic (this 3rd one was due to local traffic). All three drivers were at fault and highly cooperative so far. I was driving to my appointment with Tesla Collision to replace the bumper for the 2nd accident yesterday, March 21, 2025, while in traffic when the guy behind me hit the gas pedal while leaning over to get something in his front passenger seat. I need a new bumper (again), and maybe a tailgate even though mine was covered in PPF. It is too early to tell if Tesla wants to replace the tailgate.
After the repair is complete, I will unfortunately have to wrap the tailgate panel with some type of warning pattern, similar to what fire trucks and fire rescue vehicles use. It's a reflective red, yellow-green 45-degree arrowhead-like pattern. Three impacts in only 120 days is too many for me.
Update: A short version of the original rear-facing video was added.
