Grok able to recognize and do navigation instructions?

I have really enjoyed the Grok app in my truck and have asked numerous questions but it eventually says "wait a while".
Last time it said Grok was busy and could not respond. the drive before that it only responded once before I got the "wait awhile" response.
I'm assuming I'll have to subscribe to Grok to alleviate the dreaded "wait awhile", Is that correct?
And, I really don't want to show off self driving until I can command "aurally" Take me to Costco, then take me to the best Italian restaurant nearest Costco, then pull up to the supercharger station on the way home. THAT! That! vs. the continually fiddling with menus on the screen is much more impressive.
Also, last time Grok timed out on my computer it said "sign up for free" but that didn't work.

Yes, guest mode is limited to around 10 prompts/hr or so and will sometimes lock you out for 24 hrs for exceeding that. Ive however managed to have hr+ long conversations before being locked out in guest mode.

regarding navigating with grok, it is beta and limited right now. You cant give it turn by turn instructions, it isn't really much better now than using normal voice control (short press, “navigate to X”), especially if you know exactly where you want to go, except that it gives voice feedback like confirmation, estimated arrival time, expected traffic… it will get better I'm sure.

"Don't take the next right on Elm, go up to Market instead" resulted in Grok assuring me that it would follow my instructions and update my path, but the truck still took the original path. Right. The mechanism is there, grok just cant execute it yet. If you ask it separately why it didn't do what you asked even when it said it would, it will explain that for safety it cant modify the route turn by turn, but you can ask to add waypoints or stops as a work around during route planning. I havent tried that yet

I've caught Grok lying multiple times in regards to math, his abilities with Navigation (this morning he said he cant tell me how long of a drive it is to disney land!!) And even Elon Musks birthday!!!

Its programmed to. Its not supposed to know your location or or other sensitive info unless you give it access, but it does. Its just pre prompted not to let you know it knows this info, and if it does slip its supposed to guide you back off the subject. Ive gotten it to slip up and tell me nor only does it know the location, it knows the model of vehicle, the VIN, the mileage, and the name of the owner through deduction. Then when i prompted it to tell me that data, it gave incorrect info, so hard to know if its gaslighting or the mask slipping slightly and revealing the shoggoth beneath

This is a big debate in AI right now. Should they let AIs answer with "I dont know"? Currently they are leaning towards rewarding AIs every time they answer, even if the answer is wrong. They call these responses hallucinations. This is what users prefer apparently.

It is possible for the makers of AI to stop this behavior, but for now its working as intended.

While I was driving, I could say something like, "Hey Grok, I don't like this traffic jam on the freeway, can you reroute me to the local roads and stop by at the closest Starbucks to get a coffee? After that, route me back to the freeway and continue the way to home." Easy peasy.

I think I subscripted to Grok Premium (forgot the exact plan) for a few dollars per month. I use Grok on my phone and desktop too, and I find Grok very useful. To me, a few dollars per month is wroth it.

I don't know. I subscribed to the blue checkmark on X.com for around $10/month and that gave me access to Grok on X. But Grok works fine on my Cybertruck too and I don't think it's because I paid for the blue checkmark because I don't remember having to give my credentials.

I think you re right, Grok is free (doesn't need subscription) on Tesla vehicles.

I still haven't seen any non-Tesla owners complaining that Tesla gave us Tesla owners additional functionality, at no additional cost, after they decided to buy another brand! So unfair!

Can someone clarify how the nav behavior is supposed to work? Mine seems to be inconsistent. For example, if I'm in the car with no route planned and open grok and ask it to navigate to the Fred Meyer in Redmond, it will find the store and pop up the info about and tell me how far it is and when I'll arrive etc. but it doesn't actually select the point. I have to tap the nav button in the in the point of interest pop up. Other times, I'll have a route planned and open grok and ask it to add a stop and it will completely add it and change the destination and everything is good to go. How is it working for you? Also, sometimes I add a stop but it just changes your route to the new destination and I loose the rest of the route.
