There is quite a delay in the response but it also was overloaded and I got "try again later" Many times.

I've been enjoying playing with it so far but its hard to figure out what to trust and what not to. This is the same for all AIs at the moment but asking it what version it was gave generic answers like "I'm the latest version of Grok" and then asking details, it claimed it was both Grok 3 and Grok 4. If I get in the car fresh and ask what my last conversation is, it gets some things through general answers even though I'm signed in and my phone shows the previous conversations. When I ask for my history or if Grok has cross session memory, it says it doesn't but it gets enough of it right that there has to be something. When pressed about my location, it claimed "its developers set its system defaults with my approximate location" but I couldn't get more info about that.

I've been pressing to figure out how much info it has from my vehicle and how it saves conversations / history.

I just played around with it in my driveway. No delays, no "Try again later". I wonder if it's because I signed into my paid X account that I have for Grok?

After reading all the comments here, it worked a lot more seamlessly than I thought it would. I had fun with it for awhile then I explored more practical applications, like finding a place to eat or drink. Using my hometown as a reference, since I know all the local places to cure hunger away from home, it pretty much nailed it. In the past I would have used the browser but this was much easier due to:

1) Incorporation of AI
2) Voice interface

Yes, things like linking it to the truck GPS and asking useful questions like, "What's my elevation?"

Replying to my own post...I just tried it today and simply asked, "What's my elevation?" Grok immediately responded with a precise and accurate answer. Cool.

I used the Grok Language Tutor to learning other languages (Spanish, Russians, etc.) while I was driving with FSD. It was both fun and useful.

Yesterday was a great example of a use case:

• Truck driving on latest FSD (which seems to have improved even though there were no release notes on it)
• Eating Chick-fil-a (using both hands sometimes)
• Asking Grok about the latest MLB trades that happened at the trade deadline, and how many games back the teams were that made big moves, etc. Then moved on to Football, just to be surprised there was a game on that night (HoF game), before moving on to college football

Overall a great experience, and a glimpse into the future. Actually, it felt like the future was right now!!

Where do you find unhinged?

Hit the Gear Icon and turn on NSFW (Not Safe For Work). Then "Unhinged" shows up in the options. WARNING, make sure your boss or small Kids are not in the car when you ask it any questions.

2 finger reboot may help after the update...also, remember its in "Beta" and the servers may be over loaded.

Got the .26.4 for a few days and I’ve been messing around with Grok. Buggy it is for me, other than Ava non of the other voices worked/said anything. It’s Spanish is quite good but other lesser well know languages can be a bit of a joke. Assistant is good and helpful, story telling meh, conspiracy mode dumb.

my biggest issue with grok is what I experience on the Mac/phone app also; its answers too verbose and always ending up with questions. It is therefore not really a speaking partner, it’s more an interviewer - makes me tired after a while. Not sure if it can be given instructions on how to respond as with the app version.

it did seem to figure out fairly well when I was talking other others in the truck or directing my talk to it.

Other feature I was looking forward to more than grok was road noise cancelling but it seems our trucks aren’t getting that (with this version at least).

Anyone else with interesting take away from this version/Grok?

I asked GROK (Ava) to make a fairy tale about a 35 year old Queen Jessica (my daughter) and her two princesses Maia age 5 and Korra age 3 ... and their walk through an enchanted forest where they talked with animals of all sorts. The resulting story told by a lady with a wonderful voice was great but the vocabulary was a bit too adult ... so I asked for the same story but with the words toned down to a 1st grade school level. The result was perfect and a lot of fun.

Overall... I give this first Tesla effort on a mobile implementation of GROK an A+ ... like Alexa on steroids ! I can imagine it will not be too long before that audio fairy tale GROK made up ... will evolve into the ability to present that same story AS A CARTOON ... for the kids on the back seat screen.

In unhinged mode, I asked it why I should be considered one of the 7th wonders of the world! Me and my buddies literally had to stop halfway through as we were in tears! She then chewed me out for interrupting her! Warning!!!! It’s most definitely for work or kids! lol
