ordered AWD on 1/9
Homeshare survey email on 1/20

Any precedence for VIN assignment?
No.

Invite 1/9
Ordered AWD 1/10
Survey 1/12
no vin yet

I also gathered that trade in offer being given should be an indicator for vin assignment, also seems not to be true.

There are two emails related to the home share. One is the survey and you get it pretty close after putting order in. The other - and I think more telling - is your eligibility email. I think Tesla needs to (or feels they need to) let you know about that in case you change your mind on delivery. Once eligible I suspect that clears a hurdle for you to get a VIN (based on whatever logistics Tesla is using to assign VINs). If not eligible they may have an internal wait period to see if you decide to back out (and lose order fee + deposit where applicable). But either way I’d be curious to see if this theory holds: To get VIN you have to get the (in)eligibility on home share first.

I am on the same timeline. Ordered 1/9 and survey on the 12th but I have not received a reply after I took the survey. Do they send a confirmation after the survey is completed.

This is what I received so far.

Install Powershare Home Backup

Powershare Home Backup allows you to power your home with the energy stored in your Cybertruck’s battery pack, helping keep the lights on for up to three days when outages occur.*

Your order is eligible for free Powershare Home Backup hardware—you just cover the installation cost. Take our survey to confirm your interest.** We will reach out to you with more information and connect you with a Tesla Certified Installer.

*Based on an average daily home energy usage of 30 kWh per day.
**Eligibility based on installation feasibility at your home.
