Holy sheet Batman. The installation looks like it was performed by a newbie. Absolutely horrible workmanship.

Similar to window tinting, you want an experienced installer who is patient and detail oriented by nature.

I have noticed a LOT of new wrap shops popping up by owners who want to cash in on the Cybertruck wrapping trend.

Due your due diligence before picking a shop.

Oh man really appreciate that! I think I may take you up on that. My wife and 17 year old daughter are super talented artists--wife's an art teacher--- and both have an incredible attention to detail and quality. My wife came to me and asked if my daughter could wrap it and make some extra money and she would help her. All I had to do was order a kit. They watched a ton of YT videos and planned it out. At the last minute I said I'm gonna let a professional shop do it cause I was worried it would take too long and I don't really have a clean space for them to work.
They both are now saying "You should have let us do it". Of course they are correct ;)
It took me a weekend to wrap it with the @TESBROS kit, that include the washing it the night before, which is the worst part, but the kit comes with all the cleaners and a clay bar.

Luckily I paid with CC. Keeping all options on the table.
That's good. It gives you a way to recover your money.

The job that guy did looks so awful that I wouldn't trust him with a second attempt even if he would be willing to do it at no further cost to you.

I was going to give a local shop my business because of the incredible job they do with Tinting. So far, they have wrapped about 20 Cybertruck’s to date. I happened to stop by to pick up a color-sample book for Pure PPF. A Cybertruck happened to be there that they just finished… my heart sank. Not what I was expecting. So, as of now, my truck remains Au naturel. There are some really good shops, but it’s about a 2 hour drive, and they’re expensive, so I am undecided as of now. The SS look is pretty nice though.

Total was supposed to be 6500 and include ceramic coat. I paid 1/2 of up front as deposit. Haven't paid the rest. I'm trying to figure out what to do. Demand full refund? Make the shop redo it? But then how long do I wait and what will it look like then?

Ask for full refund and remove ppf film. Installer already know he messed up big time!! CT would be gorgeous if done right!!

As a shop owner who's done many of the CT's, here is my feedback if its worth anything to you.

I understand this was the shop's first attempt at PPF, which does add complexity to the process. However, based on the issues you've outlined, it seems the installation did not meet nor industry and more importantly your standards.

In the spirit of fairness and professionalism, and without meaning any disrespect to the shop, I recommend requesting the removal of the PPF and a full refund. This approach is consistent with what is typically expected under such circumstances in our industry.

If a refund is not immediately forthcoming, it might be worthwhile to inquire how the shop intends to rectify the situation. Perhaps they can involve an experienced PPF installer to redo the work? If so, you could offer them a specific timeframe—letting them know the car is available for two days, with a third for quality control, which aligns with standard practices in our shop.

This solution would not only address the current issue but also demonstrate the shop's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. I hope this helps and wish you the best in resolving this matter smoothly.

Important note: Do not let them use any additional adhesive to laydown the PPF. No additional adhesive is needed to finish the job. they may want to use adhesive promoter which should have been applied before application of the PPF. Do you know the brand of PPF they used?

Thank you for the feedback. I don't remember the brand. I just know it was not Izonetk, PURE, Xpel, or Stek. The reason I know that is because I initially sent him a link to TSportline's website with 2-3 colors I liked and he said he doesn't use the brands listed on their site.

Yeah that is really bad. Shouldn't have been acceptable by any professional. I've helped do some wraps on drift cars (so not expected to be great, lol) and some partial stuff on other vehicles and that would have been redone if I was helping doing it.
Sorry you had to come home to that, that really sucks : (

(Ghack attack) I would have a frank conversation with dude, and say there's no shame in admitting it's beyond you capabilities, either make it PERFECT, or take it off, full refund. 6,500 smackeroos is a lot for an awful look. FUCK THAT.

First off I know this is bad--see link below. This (gunmetal PPF) was done by a local business who specializes in detailing, ceramic coating, and PPF. I have had my other cars detailed and ceramic coating before, but this was his first go at a PPF CT. I assumed it would be doable for him. He's always gone above and beyond. He took 6 days, and just dropped off my CT while I was gone and I just arrived home. He called me as he was dropping it off and said "oh man you're gonna love it! It looks amazing". And then as an afterthought he told me he has to order special glue to help tack down the wrap-around edges cause those weren't sticking, but it's an easy fix.
For those who are professional, how acceptable is this to you? Is it salvageable? Even if he can "fix it" I really don't trust the process, and I'm not going to wait another 6 days for him to fix it. Appreciate the feedback in advance.

Tried to get photos to upload, but seems sight is having problems. Here's my album

Oh boy. This is really bad. Mine has some imperfections but looks absolutely perfect compared to this. I don't like conflict but I would be pretty upset about this and would have to demand either removal and money back or have him pay to have it fixed by another installer. The installer shouldn't have given it back in this condition. Great color though.
