I got used to it after a few weeks, but my wife who never uses it, always fumbles with it forever, then asks me, and if I have to show her, and think about it, I can't find it. Also the app on the phone where you just stand in front of the frunk and then point your hip toward the truck, works very well.

For those that think the auto phone frunk opening delay is too long, well you don’t want it opening every time you’re in front of it. A number of times it starts beeping and I quickly move away to avoid it opening unnecessarily. And I have inhibit at home selected so it doesn’t open if I’m cleaning drool off the hood (my own).

This isn't an issue with any other manufacturer that uses the foot wave gesture. It opens immediately.

Standing in front for 3 seconds is an eternity when I can just manually open it...it's even faster to put stuff down and open it.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but I find it a worthless add and don't use it.

You will get accustomed to the location quickly enough. At first I would fumble around looking for the button and now my fingers go right to it.
This.

Practice makes perfect. Pretty soon you’ll be able to boop that thing blindfolded. It isn’t that bad lol

I completely agree with the OP. I've had the truck for almost a year and it's still unnatural every time I need to open it. Even just a slightly more raised button would help.

This is why I was glad to see the auto-open added to Android. That has helped but it's a long pause before it finally opens. I'm sure that's a safety thing. You don't want it to open just walking in front of the truck but it's a bit too long for me. Better than fumbling for the button though.

I had forgot that it seemed a little odd when I first got the ride. Now it seems normal and easier to hit every time.

Think I may try to design a 3d printed piece that will stick to the button then curl down and forward so there is a little button right under the frunk edge to push.
I feel inspired by my new friend Sandman1962 who sent me some amazing 3d printed visor clips.
Will keep you posted

I'd understand this complaint within the first few weeks of ownership, but I've had my truck for almost a year and the button is fine now.

I don't think the standing in front of the frunk to open is useful. It takes too long.
3 beeps so it does t just open when you walk near it. Not perfect but usable.

I don't walk so fast anymore, so when I have to walk past the front, I appreciate that it's not quicker.

Of course if I have to wait for it with my hands full, I wish it was quicker. Maybe the video suggestion would help insofar as it could then distinguish between someone with the phone standing vs walking past.
