My status changed on truck order and am planning on paying full on delivery (not scheduled as of now).

I try to add a payment method via the Tesla app. I enter in my bank and it ses the correct accounts with balances in each. I select an account, enter the routing and account number. Also enter a security confirmation code sent by the bank. I press confirm on the last screen and it fails (2x). No error given. I called the bank and they said that they do indeed support plaid.

Any ideas? I'd like to get this handled so that there is no chance of hiccup for delivery when ever that happens

Ok. Thanks for the suggestions. I uninstalled the app and re-installed. I was able to link the bank successfully!

Before uninstalling, I called Tesla and was inquiring about this. They sent me an email with Tesla's wire transfer information and was told I'd have to wire money. My bank's maximum daily wire is 100k.

For anyone that has paid in cash (electronic transfer) - did you do a wire transfer like this or did you use plaid? Were there any issues with a max transfer amount? Thanks for any help. Just trying to avoid headaches on delivery day.

Can plaid be used the day of delivery to pay in full? I called the bank and they said there was no daily cap when using plaid.

I used plaid to pay my down payment on delivery day. I did my initial high level inspection on the truck to make sure there were no glaring issues. Once I was good, I submitted final payment in the app, Tesla linked my phone to the car & then I drove off in my new cybertruck. The funds were withdrawn from my account a couple days later.

Hey cybertruckwaldo,

Thanks for the reply and info.

Can you describe the down payment vs final payment in the app? When I go to the app and select the truck and further tasks, the only listed is "Make Your Final Payment". Is this something you can setup differently once you start processing the payment?

I called it down payment but it is the “make your final payment screen. I connected plaid before I got there but didn’t click the submit until after I touched the truck.

Yes, no issues with ACH transfer for me on previous Teslas. No way I was giving Plaid my bank password for a single transaction. I don't understand the logic there.

You can also just get a bank check and bring that in when you pick it up. That's what I did this time. Easy and no stress about wire transfers. If either of those methods costs you anything at your bank, I would switch banks, that should be free.

I asked NFCU, they said it's less hassle to take their bank check, as I have done with my last 2 purchases.
But my SC told me last week they were NOT involved in the process???
