I was driving my 2017 Tundra up I-5 when it suddenly lost a significant amount of power (this was in 2019). I was a long ways from home and no lights came on. I stopped to check if I could see anything obvious like a bad plug wire. It was acting like a misfire and would buck when trying to accelerate. Since I could feather it and maintain highway speed at about 68mph, I just drove it to my nearest dealership. Turned out to be a broken valve spring. Thing is that after the repair, my dismal 13.7 mpg average dropped to an even worse 11.8 mpg. Sold the thing in 2020.
I did buy an old Dodge Dakota to make Home Depot and trash runs to get me by for now but that has been another compendium of horror stories . Now I'm patiently waiting for my non FS CyberTruck.

Tacoma is all-new gen for 2024, hence the plethora of issues. Not all that different from Cybertruck. They'll both work out the kinks. Reliability is a big

My 2021 Tacoma after 3 and half years have had zero issues while my 2019 Model 3 needed 3 repairs in the first 4 months of ownerships. Reliability is highly dependent on the manufacturer.

And we all know EVs differentials also have oil which have leaked oil in some rare instances.

Lastly, it seems like you landed on the "Issues" pages of the forum so not surprising all you saw were issues.

No, you are misrepresenting what I said. All I did was click on the Toyota Tacoma forum advertising link and it displayed the top trending topics in ALL categories, at least that is my understanding of what happened. That is supported by my observation that under the top 4 trending topics were non "issue" related topics.

I did not specifically go to the "issues" section of the forum.

Also, the issues I saw on the Tacoma forum were NOT similar to the ones I see on the Cybertruck forum. Many of the Toyota issues sound very difficult to repair, especially because they are not as modular as a modern EV.

Now it may be that GM has a disinformation campaign on all competitors' forums, not just Tesla's, I don't know. I suppose it would make good economic business sense to have negative advertising campaigns in addition to positive advertising campaigns, assuming the corporation had no morals other than the almighty dollar. I think that describes GM pretty well. Maybe all the legacy auto makers do it, I don't know. But I'm very confident Tesla doesn't do it, they can't even see fit to spend anything on regular advertising.
