#1 The strike situation is not done yet. Ford just got a new plant added to the strike.I don't think Hummer is currently impacted by the strike. The union picks and chooses which facilities to block or slow, sometimes rotating them.

Hence, 'currently'.#1 The strike situation is not done yet. Ford just got a new plant added to the strike.
#2 Just because the exact factory is not on strike doesn't mean there are not side effects. Legacy auto is laying off people in various plants that are not part of the current strikes.
#3 With the strikes, there are going to be (if not already) upstream damages to supply companies that will end up spilling over to the auto industry as a whole.
#4 It would not surprise me if a relatively large percentage of the buyers of Hummers actually work in the auto industry and may have downstream income effects that prevent them from buying a Hummer in the near future.
My mind immediately went to this image.![]()
Sorry, but I couldn't resist!
What is your order position 400,001?or . . . . if you're order number is below 400k get your $100 back and buy the Hummer EV. I think that's the right thing to do.
crap . . . I just checked, it's 500,061. I'm going to have to work a lot harderWhat is your order position 400,001?
John,Just got a phone call that my local GM dealer has both a Hummer EV edition 1 Pickup AND an SUV available for purchase now (both ~135k with dealer mark up). I could buy it tomorrow if i wanted…
i hesitate because of the price and… well because its a GM EV… but i will say the fact that i could have it now is tantalizing, and it is a wild truck…
I likely wont get a cybertruck for 6 months-1 year from the initial delivery event… what to do?
Would be pretty sweet If you had both in your driveway, just saying.Just got a phone call that my local GM dealer has both a Hummer EV edition 1 Pickup AND an SUV available for purchase now (both ~135k with dealer mark up). I could buy it tomorrow if i wanted…

Short term capital gains are taxed at the same rate as your high yield savings. Long-term capital gains (on investments held for more than a year) are taxed at the rate of 0%, 15% or 20%, depending on your taxable income. The only thing about buying stock is you pay capital gain tax when you sell. I have about 50% of my CT savings in tesla stock, 50% in high yield savings
Uptate: I did not buy the $135k (incl 19k dealer markup) Hummer.Just got a phone call that my local GM dealer has both a Hummer EV edition 1 Pickup AND an SUV available for purchase now (both ~135k with dealer mark up). I could buy it tomorrow if i wanted…

Ive only flown the an airbus in MFS ? are you a commercial pilot? Im currently working on my PPL.John,
I've held off chiming in here because, well, I'm not a truck guy. Never owned one. I've bid on a few HMMVs at auction, but never found one at a price I could live with. My reasons for buying a CT are probably wildly different than yours. So, take that grain of salt with what I suggest.
I don't ever buy a car with a dealer mark up. I haven't ever paid MSRP for a new car. if the dealer wants you to line his pockets with your money, I'm a hard pass on that. But let's say he is willing to drop the markup, after all, he called you. That says there isn't a line of people willing to hand him $10k+just because he has them. Second, I thought the H2 and even more the H3 were butt-ugly. The original HMMV had that military vehicle look, and that was kinda cool, but then trying to capitalize on that ti sell a 100% civilian street car just looked desperate to me. And the electric version ain't lookin' any better. I see that vehicle as "Rather than spend some time and effort actually engineering and designing a vehicle, we'll just throw bigger motor and more battery at a crap design. Sure it will be expensive, but who cares." I hate lazy companies. Reminds me of the A380.
If you have to have a truck right now, buy a used ICE whatever (FX50, Silverado, Ram, etc.) and save your hard earned dollars for what you really want. Reading between the lines, what you really want is the CT. Look, I'm in the same boat in that aspect. I want the CT, but I'm at least 2 years out from day 1 sales. So, I'm looking at a M3P in the meantime. However, I see the M3+, and want that. So now I'm waiting for the announcement in the U.S. of the car I'm going to drive until I get the vechicle I want, which also isn't announced yet. Then they go and lower the Model S down to a really tempting price. Do I get the S, which I could have tomorrow, wait for the 3+P (which is close to the S, at 60% of the $$$), or do I get the S, or even S-Plaid, and possibly punt on the CT?
I'm waiting for the CT official launch and price announcement. I really can't make an informed decision without the information. So as much as it kills me (Please grant me patience, and give it to me NOW), I wait. Trying with everything I have to keep this an unemotional decision.
My 2 cents.
You and me both! But I have faith.Ive only flown the an airbus in MFS ? are you a commercial pilot? Im currently working on my PPL.
i agree with 99% of what you said. I dont NEED a truck right now, ive also only ever personally driven a few pickups, never technically owned one.
i just hope the production CT isnt a castrated version of what they released in 2019
