I suspect your SOL. I believe that’s what folks who’ve had OG model asses with it say happened to them. I think your FSD is RIP.
It is indeed. Had a friend learn that the hard way after getting t-boned. But unless you have shady insurance you tell them the vehicle had FSD and they give you more for it.

it will probably cost $30K or more.
Let’s hope not. Cybercab is supposed to be about $30K and it absolutely has to include unsupervised FSD. But maybe that $30K prediction is like CTs $40K prediction…

If one does the FSD purchase, what happens if your CT is totaled?
Like the rest of the value of the car, you can insure it. Insurance typically covers the cost to replace your used car with one of the same age, mileage and features on the open market. Of course, if it's not totaled, you can simply get it repaired as usual (and you will still have FSD).

Do check with your insurance that it covers replacement with like kind, age, mileage and features (because if your car appreciates above the purchase price you may need an additional rider to cover that increase in value).

I don't see a fully autonomous Cybercab selling for $30K, Tesla couldn't make them fast enough. You could pay your robotaxi off in less than one year of robotaxi service.

The same value as the “Signature Series” on the MS. Nothing. (But of us knew/know that going in.) Sorta like when you buy accessories from the manufacturer on a brand new vehicle. Adds nearly nothing on the trade in value when you’re done with the vehicle a few years down the road. Right?

Yes, every vehicle Tesla sells has this as a selectable option. The Foundation Series had it as Standard.

Unfortunately, since it's sold as an option with a vehicle, the license is stuck to the vehicle unless Tesla is offering transfers as a promotional item.

You can also get it after receiving your Tesla, in the in-app store, but it will be more expensive over time.

Maybe this will get people to hold on to cars longer…too many get ICE cars trashed prematurely, but perhaps improved repairabilty of EV + vehicle tied software licenses will increase lifespan.
