Another reason to perform a thorough inspection on delivery day.
You wouldn't need a thorough inspection to see that on delivery day, it jumps out at you as soon as the door is opened. Pretty obvious it happened after delivery.

Yeah these shits are easy to damage. You may can get it replaced from SC if you act oblivious to when it happened. If you wait months later, you're sol

Noticed similar, but not as extensive, damage on mine. Truck already had ~100 miles before I noticed, so I wasn’t absolutely sure if it was there at delivery or if one of my passenger’s did it. But considering one of the damaged areas is on the B-pillar and not typically subject to ā€˜foot traffic,’ (didn’t put a box or other object that might hit the interior trim piece), I’m pretty certain it was there at delivery.

I was cleaning the inside of the truck after the work week and noticed what seems like staples sticking through the material on the pillar/panel by the driver side seat belt. Anyone else have this? I cannot unsee this now. I have a service appt coming up for unrelated concern. Is it worth mentioning?

That vinyl is very soft, mine *was* pristine when new and now it has many scratches and gouges from casual entry & exits by passengers.

Especially, on the rear doors - I can only image how bad it will look after dragging and sliding items into the back when configured as cargo.

It should be an ABS plastic...

Is that worth mentioning? JFC, why do you need to even ask such a question? That is 100% ridiculous and SC should take care of that!

Guys I’ve come to a conclusion that I prob did this hahaha definitely didn’t bring a screw driver near my truck yet but also could’ve been a jacket of mine when getting out of a tight spot. Whether I’m charged or not I’ll ask Tesla to replace at my next appt!

I also have a two or three little nicks in the same spots on driver side.

My delivery specialist said it’s because they ship the trucks with the wheel covers and other accessories in the back seat and they cut into it. He said they’ve given that feedback to the factory but they haven’t changed how they ship them.

I scheduled a service appointment to have those trim pieces replaced. He said you should to do it within 24 hours of delivery.

Delivery day is so pressure packed. Probably a good idea to have a neutral party (spouse) go with you to do the fine tooth comb inspection.
True story I was so excited I ran around it and left with it.

I would strongly recommend anyone bringing there truck home to detail it the next day even though it’s clean. The things you will find when you’re detailing a car that you wouldn’t see before will surprise you.

That's a very good idea.

You're also very likely to learn where all the cubbies in the molds are, too.

I am happy to report that Tesla has replaced my interior panels with the dreaded ā€˜staple marks’

luckily I reported them early enough for rectification.
They also fixed my squeaky steering wheel.

kudos to my local Service Center and Tesla

That material around all the interior doors -adjacent to the seals is waaay too soft IMO - it damages easily. The rear passenger threshold on mine is scraped from passenger egress..
